Derek Lui(I)

Derek Lui was born and raised in Hong Kong. After graduating college
with a B.S.SC in Journalism and Communication, he started working as a
TV host at the East Asia Satellite TV in Hong Kong, hosting a variety
of programs including lifestyle, entertainment, music and movie
programs. He has also worked as a MC/host for many movie premieres like
the Hong Kong Premiere of Transformers and TMNT. In addition, he also
worked as a MC/host for various stage events of Sony Computer
Entertainment Ltd (Hong Kong) and hosted many press events for Sony
Playstation Hong Kong. 2011 has been a very busy year for Derek Lui. He
was last seen in the independent film "Behind the Red Motel Door" which
made its world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam
2011. The film went on to screen at the BAFICI Film Festival in Buenos
Aires and the 15th Pusan International Fantastic Film Festival in
Korea. His leading performance in the short film "Fortune Cookie Magic
Tricks" brought him to the film festival circuit once again. The film
has shown in more than 20 film festivals including San Francisco
International Asian American Film Festival, Vancouver Asian Film
Festival, San Diego Asian Film Festival and Boston Asian American Film
Festival. His other film credits in Los Angeles include shorts like
Marathon, The Conflict of Ms. Boston, 22 Pounds and feature films like
"Vamps in the City" and "The Amazing Bulk". In 2009, Derek Lui began a
9 month run performing in Joelle Arqueros' awarding winning Off
Broadway play Sex, Relationships and Sometimes...Love at the Actors
PlayPen Theatre in Hollywood. On the small screen, Derek Lui had
appeared in the episode "Nerd's Night" on the web series "It's Always
Smoggy in LA" which is featured at funnyordie.com. He has also provided
his voice for the Cantonese commercials of McDonald's, Verizon and PG &
E in North America.
