Known to many as "Varis" or simply "V", Travaris Spears was born on
October 20, in Rochester, New York. At a very young age,Travaris
developed a charm that was engaging and magnetic. His energy and
passion for performing led him to sing, dance, and even imitate his
favorite artists and celebrities. Using his gift for communicating and
interacting with people from all walks of life, Travaris creates
opportunities for lasting impressions and sees the whole world as his
stage. In fact after performing in the Tiny Tots school play, the
Director and even other parents in the audience expressed to his mother
that Travaris had something very, very special.
With a desire to see Travaris succeed in the world of entertainment, his mother, Tanika Hill, moved to Brooklyn, New York in 2007. From the time they arrived in New York City, she and Travaris set out to strengthen their resolve. Although Travaris is gifted with natural talents, he commits himself to various activities that enhance his character and improve his chances of becoming a professional artist. The discipline Travaris displays at such a young age is unrivaled and enables him to become fully engaged in a host of skill-building activities. His repertoire includes an enrollment at the American Tap Dance Foundation, private tap dance instruction with Frances Bradley, weekly guitar lessons with Justin Mathews, voice coaching with Singer/Songwriter Jeremiah Abiah, and diligent training with Veteran Acting Coach Sally Stewart.
Since 2007, Travaris has been busy at work while simultaneously maintaining excellent grades in school; something upon which his mother insists. He has appeared in a Siri/Universal Record Music Video, a television show, print ads, several indie films, and, in 2012, was selected to participate in the Disney Theatrical Productions Skills Program for The Lion King. Presently in the sixth grade, Travaris is an avid comic book reader, exceptional guitar player, amazing tap dancer and a Gleason's Gym competitive boxer. Travaris's charisma is contagious, and he is quickly becoming an artist you ought to know.
