Filming has begun on Outrageous, a six-part series about the Mitford sisters, with a cast including Bessie Carter, Joanna Vanderham, Anna Chancellor, and James Purefoy.

The brand-new drama, created and written by Sarah Williams and based on Mary Lovell’s definitive biography The Mitford Girls, is made by Firebird Pictures and co-commissioned by BritBox International (for North America) and UKTV.

The characters of The Last Kingdom are returning for their final battle. The fifth and final season of the Netflix series was released last March. The Seven Kings Must Die film, which will conclude the series, will arrive on April 14th.

Deadline has revealed the premium cabler has canceled the Alicia von Rittberg series after just one season.

The series launched in the U.S. and Starz territories around the globe in June.

Reviews were decent, but Starz hadn't been forthcoming about viewership statistics, which could signal that the interest was not high enough to sustain the series.

On Thursday the annual television festival revealed the lineup, with Starz’s new drama Becoming Elizabeth. set to get things started on May 5. Running from May 5 to 11, SeriesFest: Season will return to Denver, Colorado for six days of screenings, panels, workshops, sneak peeks and television premieres.

Peacock has shared the first look at its new upcoming comedy series “Killing It,” streaming this April.

Created by “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” producers Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici, “Killing It” stars Craig Robinson as Craig, a man who competes in a state-sponsored python hunt in his quest to achieve the American Dream. The series co-stars Stephanie Nogueras as Craig’s ex-wife Camille, Jet Miller as his pre-teen daughter Vanessa and Rell Battle as his younger brother Isaiah. Claudia O’Doherty, Scott Macarthur and Wyatt Walter round out the cast.

Uhtred of Bebbanburg and his adventures are coming to an end with year five. The Netflix historical drama series, The Last Kingdom, is coming to a close so, there won't be a sixth season. The streaming service hasn't announced a release date for the final installments as yet.

Storming red-faced up to the locked gates of a well-stocked, well-defended city and screaming “Do you surrender?” while your men drop like swatted flies is madness. Did you learn nothing about military strategy from your father? What was the number one rule? Always. Ask. Uhtred.

Uhtred is a changed man at this end of the season. Where once he’d have been scaling Winchester’s walls with a dagger between his teeth and vengeance in his heart, he’s learned that impetuousness leads to loss. It’s a lesson Edward sorely needs.

Aethelflaed’s surprise at her lack of schadenfreude on the occasion of her husband’s death is shared by us all. King Aethelred of Mercia’s downfall should have been a high day. That cruel coward’s final breath should have filled the streets with tumbling clowns, overflowing banquet tables and artist renditions of that excellent time he was forced to sleep in a pig sty.

But no. Some wizardry took place that meant on his deathbed, Aethelred cut a pitiful figure. He was lost, repentant, even gallant when he promised his wife the protection she sought for her daughter Aelfwynn – whom he claimed as his for the first time in memory.. In episode five,...

Landing on Netflix on Sunday the 26th of April are 10 new episodes of The Last Kingdom, the bloodthirsty historical drama based on Bernard Cornwell’s ‘The Saxon Stories’ novel saga. Season four continues the story of Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon), a Saxon-born but Viking-raised warrior who became King Alfred’s military right-hand-man/mortal enemy/cherished friend over the course of the first three seasons.

Season four takes place after the death of King Alfred, with his dream of a single England more fractured than ever as the kingdoms of Mercia and Wessex continue to compete for power. Uhtred once again plans to challenge the uncle who usurped his ancestral home of Bebbanburg, but destiny instead leads him back to politics and to Alfred’s dream of a united land.

So the title of this new comedy refers to one of the “seven deadly sins” as labeled in most Christian teachings. In these times the word’s a bit more complicated. After all, fictional real estate mogul Gordon Geeko, in an Oscar-winning performance by Michael Douglas, proclaimed that it is “good” in one of the most quoted scenes from Oliver Stone’s 1987 classic Wall Street. Another take on that word now comes from two-thirds of the trio responsible for a delightful series of comedic travelogues that began ten years ago with The Trip. But they’re not going after Stone’s street, rather they’re taking aim at Great Britain’s avenue of haughty fashion retail shops, High Street. And as you might have guessed, this isn’t a remake of the Erich von Stroheim silent 1924 epic. The sin’s much the same, but this is a completely different take on Greed.

The crushing inequality in global economics is both the righteous roil of British filmmaker Michael Winterbottom’s inequality satire “Greed” and its Achilles heel in effectively dramatizing the wreckage wrought by billionaires.

It’s always tricky to find humor in ostentatious wealth while stoking our concern for the plight of sweatshop workers and refugees, and Winterbottom, teaming again with his go-to comic frontman Steve Coogan, is not one to finesse such tonal details when he’s got a message to get out about mega-loaded wankers, and a killer clown whom he’s confident will wring laughs out of audacious self-centeredness.

But in the case of “Greed,” at least, the jokey jerkiness mostly works as we enter the orbit of crassly aggressive fast-fashion magnate Richard McCreadie (a fake-tanned Coogan sporting blinding white teeth) while he readies a 60th birthday toga bash in Mykonos to save his reputation after a parliamentary inquiry...

I’ve got this friend who makes his own clothes. Not the generic kind cut from dowdy prairie-dress patterns, but chic, design-it-yourself garments that look better than most anything you’d find on a ready-to-wear rack. I figure he’s the only person I know who’s not guilty of contributing to the kind of sweatshop misery writer-director Michael Winterbottom attacks in his scattershot new satire “Greed,” . He’s certainly got the teeth for it.

Coogan plays Sir Richard McCreadie, whose name rhymes with “greedy,” the man behind a brand called Monda, but there’s no real mystery about whom he’s skewering. The film’s big fat target is the billionaire bottom feeder Sir Philip Green, responsible for Topshop and half a dozen other retail labels (the British equivalent of worse offenders Zara and H&m) that have turned the exploitation of developing-world workers into an empire of cheap — and lousy — discount fashion.

Filming has commenced on the fourth season of The Last Kingdom for Netflix, the hit historical drama based on Bernard Cornwell’s best-selling novel series The Saxon Stories.

Alexander Dreymon reprises his role as Uhtred, joined by new cast Stefanie Martini who takes on the role of Eadith, Aethelred’s new love conquest, and Aethelred’s new right-hand man Eardwulf, played by Jamie Blackley.

After the death of Alfred, the alliances between the kingdoms are fractured. Uhtred believes the timing is right to challenge his uncle Aelfric, played by Joseph Millson, and take back his ancestral home, Bebbanburg. However fate shifts in a different direction, leading Uhtred to realize that his destiny is tied to Alfred’s dream of a united land. This, and Uhtred’s feelings for Aethelflaed, drive him back into the politics that threaten to break out into war.

Slaughterhouse Rulez, directed by Crispian Mills, is the first produced joint venture between Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s production company Stolen Picture. The two also star in this campy comedy flick that is mash-up of Edgar Wright’s beloved British comedy Shaun of the Dead and Neil Marshall’s cult-classic underground monster movie Dog Soldiers, released in 2004 and 2002 respectively. However, Slaughterhouse Rulez feels more of a hollow homage of sorts – a thinly veiled layer of both horror and comedy that is sadly entirely derivative of any and all of Edgar Wright’s filmography, albeit with a decent screenplay and character craft.

The performances are undoubtedly the key highlight of this production.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, star of AMC’s series “The Walking Dead,” and Connie Nielsen have signed on for the Janusz Kaminski-directed thriller “The Postcard Killings.”

The two will co-star in the film adapted from James Patterson and Liza Marklund’s bestseller. The film follows a New York detective (Morgan) whose life is thrown into turmoil when he learns that his daughter and son-in-law have been brutally murdered in London. As he digs into the case, similar crimes are reported across Europe with each killing accompanied by a postcard sent to a local journalist.

Nielsen will play the detective’s ex-wife, who turns her grief back home into action when she becomes an active part of the hunt for her daughter’s killer. Jamie Blackley (“Irrational Man”) is attached to play a young American who gets caught up as the horror unfolds.
