Originally from Indiana, Staci received a double B.A. from the College of Liberal Arts at Purdue University in both International Film Studies and Mass Communications. These degrees were supplemented with a concentration in Telecommunications and a minor in English. Academic interest areas include complex film and literary theory, philosophy and photography. She later continued studies at the University of Chicago, UC Berkeley and the University of Cambridge.
Initially she pursued her career in Chicago working not just with film and television shows, but directly with people like Oprah Winfrey and David Axelrod. Later, in Los Angeles, her career continued in television editing but she is also pursuing writing with an interest in scripted development and adaptations. As an added benefit she rounds out her skills with C-level experience in owning and running multi-jurisdictional corporations and limited liability companies.
She has garnered two Emmy Awards (Oprah Winfrey Show 2003 and 2005), and two Emmy Award nominations (Oprah Winfrey Show 2004 and 2006) for Outstanding Achievement in Multiple Camera Editing. Additionally she has received one Sports Emmy nomination for Outstanding Documentary Series - Serialized (Simone vs. Herself 2022). Starting in 2024 she will serve on the Board of Directors of the Motion Picture Editors Guild.
