Ashley's a Canadian filmmaker born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. As a storyteller, her work reflects her mixed cultural roots of Metis and Scottish. Known for producing the feature film "Black Field" which has received numerous accolades including the Amazon Video Direct Award (2017) at the Sundance Film Festival, Best Feature Drama at the Vancouver Women in Film Festival (2011) and Best Canadian Feature at the Female Eye Film Festival (2011).
Ashley's films have screened at film festivals all over the world, including Sannio Festival Internazionale della Scenografia é del Costume (Italy), Cambridge Arts Picture-house (UK), Vancouver International Film Festival (Canada) and Bucharest Short Film Festival (Romania).
Ashley's also a classically trained Actress who studied Shakespearian acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (UK) and is an alumni of The National Screen Institute's New Voices program.
