- Airi was born in Gifu to 2 golf players on April 12, 1994 but grew up in Chiba. She first came to people's attention as 1 of the members in the Hello! Project Kids pop group, the lead vocalist of the band's off-shoot idol girl group C-ute, as a member of Aa! & as member of another follow-up group, Buono!. Upon the dissolution of those bands, she launched a solo career. She had joined Hello! Project in 2002 & appeared in the film Mini Moni Ja Movie: Okashi Na Daibooken! During this period, she was more or less a regular on Japanese TV, issued a dozen photo books & even sketched a manga. C-ute was chosen as the Best New Artist Award at the Japan Record Award in 2008. That was also the year that she began acting on TV & movies. She was a central schoolgirl character in Osama Gemu. In 2015, she branched out & become a model for Ray magazine. She also had her own radio show, Airi's Potion. During this time, she was studying at Keio University in Tokyo, graduating w/ a degree in environmental studies 2017. While modeling, she announced her solo debut album, Do Me a Favor (Sic), in April 2018. She also announced accompanying singles, videos & a tour. In 2019, she worked on more modeling.
She's known for her multiple talents, figure & hair. Like most celebrities, she has pushed corporate products, most notably fronting for Japan's biggest pizza chain Pizza-la. She has also represented Chiba Prefecture Red Cross. In 2002, Suzuki participated and passed, along with 14 other girls, the audition of Hello! Project Kids after performing Kimochi wa Tsutawaru by BoA. She made her first appearance in the entertainment industry as a member of 4Kids, a temporary group that appeared in Minimoni's movie Mini Moni ja Movie: Okashi na Daiboken!, which was released in early 2003. In addition, she was also in a shuffle group called Aa! later that year and received a lead in the song. Meanwhile in 1999 Suzuki's parents had a child named Suzuki Saiki. She was assigned as a member of C-ute, whose formation was announced on June 11, 2005, along with seven other Hello! Project Kids members, and she is the lead singer in most songs and concerts. Furthermore, it was announced on July 21, 2007 that Suzuki would participate in a unit named Buono! with Tsugunaga Momoko and Natsuyaki Miyabi from Berryz Kobo. In 2010 Suzuki had once injured her ankle before a concert.
At the end of October, 2010, Suzuki Airi appeared on the cover of the December issue of UP to boy magazine together with Watanabe Mayu from AKB48. That was the first gravure collaboration between AKB48 and Hello! Project. Suzuki Airi goes to the same school as Hey!Say!JUMP member Okamoto Keito.
On March 6, 2013, Suzuki graduated from high school and began university on April 2. She graduated from Keio University on March 23, 2017 with a degree in Environment and Information Studies.
Since June of 2015, Suzuki has been serving as an exclusive model for the fashion magazine Ray.
On May 27, 2017 Suzuki Airi announced that after the group disbandment she would make a return to singing as a solo artist sometime in 2018 and would continue her modeling activities.
In April 2018, Suzuki announced her solo debut album.
