Filmmaker Christian Hardy was born on the Alabama Gulf Coast and began using images to tell stories at a young age. He trained in traditional dark room practices with 35mm and medium format photography around the same time he started using digital video shooting and editing mini-documentaries and short form experimental videos. At seventeen he was invited to spend a summer at the International Film and Television Workshops' Young Filmmakers program in Rockford ME. He attended Savannah College of Art and Design on a dual merit scholarship studying in the School of Film and Television. After completing his formal education with a BFA he interned at Lightborne Cincinnati and began freelancing as a technician in major motion pictures, episodic television as well as live broadcast events holding job titles in the camera, grip, and electric departments. He has furthered his career training working for specialty equipment vendors Panavison, ProCam, and Dynamic Remotes, as well as holding union cards with both IATSE and IBEW. Christian has continued to further expand the horizons of his artistic expression by continuing to produce independent content from concept to creation including music videos, short and long form narratives and documentaries, promotional and noncommercial experimental content under his company Reel Tasty Media LLC. He was nominated 2015 for best cinematography at the Madrid International Film Festival for his work on the experimental dance narrative Le Pain and 2020 for best cinematography in a feature film at the Nice International Film Festival for his work on Empire. He currently is based out of New Orleans where he continues to be a content creator, taste-maker, Renaissance revivalist... and dad.
