In addition to his rom-com feature debut VOLVERTE A VER (TO SEE YOU AGAIN, 2008), documentaries and shorts, Gustavo has directed near 200 music videos for Multi-Platinum superstars such as Shakira, Luis Miguel, Ricky Martin, J. Balvin, Alejandro Sanz, Juanes, Cafe Tacvba, Mana, Reik, Juan Gabriel as well as Vanessa Williams, Alison Krauss, Academy-Award winner/ composer Gustavo Santaolalla, and the legendary Johnny Cash. He also directed 150+ TV spots and promos for PUMA, HSBC, McDonald's, Pepsi, Dr Pepper, Samsung,Paramount TV, Entertainment Tonight & Kellogg's.
He received the Billboard, MTV and Latin Grammy Awards & Premios Lo Nuestro Univision among many. He has recently directed promos for PUMA and La Voz Kids (The Voice) for Telemundo.
As a screenwriter, Gustavo has been hired by Sony Pictures Television International to develop and write an action/thriller TV Series for Latin America. "The Exile", his character-driven drama screenplay about a successful NY federal judge with early onset Alzheimer's and dark family secrets who sets out to make amends for the damage that he has caused in his past - before it vanishes, has reached Top finalist in the STARZ Denver Film Festival & Final Draft's Big Break International Screenplay Contest, and Barcelona Film Festival.
His latest screenplay, "Eclipses", a character-driven drama is a coming of age story about a teen cello prodigy from the Bronx who must overcome severe Asperger's and childhood traumas to achieve greatness. He's also written "Biosphere 3.1", a TV sci-fi action/drama. Gustavo also adapted Gilbert Hernandez's' Love & Rockets graphic novel/comic book "Palomar" and the award-winning Mexican novel "No One Will See Me Cry", by Cristina R. Garza about a love story inside a mental asylum, which he's slated to direct.
Gustavo has just finished "Remember You Will Die", a sci-fi, character drama feature script, and "UMBRAL" a supernatural thriller to be shot in Spain.
