Brooklyn born actor Tony Mitchell has a passion for acting and the arts that's as deep as his voice. It also encompasses his strong love for filmmaking, cartoons, music and even ministry. All of which he has in development while acting, as he pursues his life's goal of establishing a production company and studio. He is a graduate of New York's High School of Art & Design having majored in Cartooning & Animation and earned a BFA degree in 16mm filmmaking & production from the School of Visual Arts. His other talents are as an announcer, voice-over actor, singer / songwriter, live/on-camera and radio host of Gospel Music Talk radio show "Ushering in The Kingdom", and public speaker. Tony's film work includes roles in HBO's "The Leftovers", Cartoon Network & Netflix live-action & animated kid's series "Team Toon" and the often-running Clear TV 4k Ultra HD Antenna commercials just to name a few. His theater performances include acting and some singing roles in acclaimed works like "Dreamgirls", "Christ Lives After All", "A Raisin in the Sun", "A Soldier's Play", and "Christmas in New York" at notable venues like the Lamb's Theatre, the Brooklyn Music School and Lincoln Center. He also served as a drama team ensemble member at Brooklyn, NY's Christian Cultural Center (CCC) under the direction of 1982 Tony Award winner Ben Harney and was their service announcer for eight years where he ministered and performed before live audiences of 4,000 to 12,000 people weekly. His distinctive baritone-bass voice talent has yielded him as a top ten finalist in the NBA's Brooklyn Nets Arena Announcer competition in 2012 and voice-over promos with SiriusXM radio. As a writer, director and producer Tony has collaborated and produced various video shorts, music videos and commercials for the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl campaign, the CCC Sports Network and the International Christian Brotherhood Fraternity (ICB) where he served as a community service and events team leader. Also, in his many years working in video post-production for the former VCA Teletronics / The Image Group Post-Production facilities, he has produced several popular rap music Christmas videos that can be seen on YouTube. On occasion as a cartoonist and illustrator, Tony and has done some of the original concept character design illustrations for Beth El Kurchners' children's book series "Adventures of Nathaniel" and various logo designs for businesses including the graphic conceptual design for ICB's shield crest logo. Also, within that range of artistic expression, he's designed and created theater set pieces, backgrounds, backdrops and props for various stage plays with Ben Harney's Bamss Theater Works and CCC's Resurrection Sunday theater productions.
