Gigi Garner and Jamie Lee Curtis have known each other since they were both two-year-olds, and later were both high school cheerleaders at the Westlake School for Girls and for the Harvard School for Boys. Harvard and Westlake have since merged to become one, as Harvard-Westlake School.

She has unfortunately suffered with Systemic Lupus since 1995 which can be a very painful and sometimes fatal auto-immune disease. Her father, James Garner, offered to become a spokesperson and advocate for Systemic Lupus awareness and even shot a free PSA where he refers to her serious struggle with the illness. This PSA was his gift to her for her birthday the year she had been hospitalized for the disease twelve times.

Gigi Garner made her first TV appearance on James Garner (1958), hosted by Ralph Edwards, which honored and highlighted the life and career of her father, actor James Garner.

She speaks fluent French.

She is a certified scuba diver.

She is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Was chosen to be the 1978 Shenandoah Apple Blossom festival Queen in Winchester, Virginia.
