In the first feature film from writer/director/star Rachel Noll James, the entrance being sought is one into alternate dimensions. The seeker is Riley (Rachel Noll James), who has been left devastated by the death of her husband Toby. Complicating this is the fact she can still catch brief glimpses of him in dreams and visions that seem to indicate he’s alive in a different reality. Or may just be grief-induced hallucinations.

Exclusive: Julia Ormond and Johnny Ferro have been added to the cast of Reminisce, the romantic drama that is serving as the feature directing debut for Riverdale‘s Mädchen Amick. The pair join a cast already includes Bruce Dern, Elissa Shay and Anzu Lawson. Principal photography began this week in Los Angeles.

The plot for the pic, written by Shay and Cary Haze and based on actual events, is mostly under wraps, but it follows the journey of a young woman traversing her trauma, heartbreak and mental illness while pushing the boundaries of reality to overcome it all and find herself.

Iris Torres and Penny Edmiston are producers. Shay is an executive producer through her FutureRetro Productions with Milan Chakraborty.

The Bahamas International Film Festival announced Tuesday that the indie dramas "Children of God" and "Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' By Sapphire" will open and close its sixth annual festival, which runs Dec. 10-17 on Paradise Island and Nassau.

"Children of God" was written, directed and produced by Bahamian filmmaker Kareem Mortimer, who shot the film locally in Nassau and Eleuthera. As the fest's opening-night film, "Children of God" (originally titled "Daybreak") will screen at the Atlantis Theatre on Paradise Island on Dec. 11.

"The film is a subtle and haunting look at race, sexuality and religion in the Bahamas, which makes it a very timely and important film and also an extremely gorgeous one to look at," Mortimer said. "We are very proud of this effort, and to open at the Bahamas International Film Festival is a dream come true."
