Jesse James Rice grew up in a small town called Port Townsend, near
Seattle, Washington, playing soccer and doing school plays. He did a
lot of theater, including playing Hamlet and Romeo in the Olympic
Shakespeare Festival.
He is the youngest of six, with four older brothers and a sister, all of whom are spread throughout the world now, with spouses and children.
An avid guitar player and a pianist, his musical passion lies in singing and writing song materials. He also dance, paints, loves art, cooking and reading.
Jesse is in the upcoming feature film, "The Last Act", the heist/drama film set in Los Angeles directed by Mario Amadieu. He will be in the upcoming powerful short film, "Change", about the day Barak Obama was elected president as seen through the eyes of an African-American high school student, produced by Melissa Osborne. Jesse plays the lead in the film "My Personal Demon," about a man whose arrogance toward his ex-girlfriend catches up with him in the form of a curse.
Working in theatre, Jesse was in the production of "Dog Sees God" in February 2010 at the Lounge Theatre, as "Beethoven" - the outcast and pianist. It was directed by Michael Dias for Urban Theatre Movement. (a GO from LAWeekly with many great reviews, the show played to sold-out houses!)
Jesse was in the cast of "A Prayer for my Daughter," understudying the role of Jimmy for the Crown City Theatre Company, which wrapped last April 10, 2010 after several extensions and rave reviews. He also performed an original work at the REDCAT theatre in downtown, Los Angeles on August 5, 6, and 7, 2010.
In the works, Jesse will be starring in the world premiere of a Libby Larsen opera, "Billy The Kid," in November 2010.
Jesse can be seen in the music video "Letting Go Despite Great Faults" for Los Angeles Band who played at South by Southwest Music Festival 2010.
Jesse James Rice just finished up a run as Michael in the World Premiere of an award-winning original musical "The Bedroom Window," at the Odyssey Theatre.
