Gregg Payne
- Actor
Gregg was born in New York City on November 12, 1979 - which makes him
a Scorpio. At the age of 8 his family moved to upstate New York, where
Gregg thrived in school activities both academically and athletically.
Later Gregg's life took a traumatic turn when his family moved to an
isolated town in Connecticut where he found himself as unpopular with
his new classmates as he had been popular with his old. There was such
disconnect in culture and development that Gregg eventually was
home-schooled. It was then that Gregg developed a keen interest in art,
music, film and literature.
Upon graduation, Gregg went to the University of Connecticut and combined a curriculum of Fitness Training and Acting. He starred in several of Shakespeare's plays including: the lead in "Hamlet,"(2000); Oberon in "A Midsummer Night's Dream," (2000); and Romeo in "Romeo and Juliet," (2001). In addition he performed Tristen in "Sleeping Beauty," (2002). He has done both independent and feature films including, "The Fire and the Rose," (1991) , "Spider-Man 3" (2007), the US/UK production of "An Englishman in New York" (2008), and the upcoming film, "An American Influence" with Oprah Winfrey.
His breakthrough role came when he was selected over 150,000 men to be a contestant on the 2008 Season 4 of "The Bachelorette". In his first episode he created a wild character known as "Coyote." He was so free on camera that the Studio received an inordinate amount of letters and calls that they had no choice but to ask Gregg back to appear on "The Men Tell All" episode. Urged by the producers and host, Gregg again improvised his wild and spontaneous half-man/half-coyote character, ripping off his shirt and instinctively running through the crowd. The audience ate it up, while the producers loved it even more the second time around.
Gregg is working on a new reality series entitled "Paynefully True," which centers around his work as a Personal Trainer in New York, his casting calls and auditions, and his personal and night life.
Greg is available for TV, Film, Stage Acting and Voice-overs.
