Damien Dematra is a humanitarian, novelist, director, script writer, producer, international photographer, and painter. He has written101 novels in dual languages, English and Indonesian, 81 films and TV scenarios, and produced 48 films in various genres.
As filmmaker, Damien is famous through his movies; among them are the internationally distributed Obama Anak Menteng (Little Obama), the award winning movie Si Anak Kampoeng (the Village Boy), the record breaking movie Dream Obama, L4 Lupus, I'M STAR, Gus Dur the Final Year, Captain Jihad, Obama and MeA Day with Gus Dur, Let's Play Ghost, Ghost Vs Dorce, The Tears of Ghost, Dream, Angel, From Seoul to Jakarta, etc.

He also founded Indonesian Artists Care Movement (GAIB) to gather Indonesian artists who care a lot about humanity.
