Giancarlo Orellana is a filmmaker originally from Union City, New Jersey, a city that never runs dry of creative talents. He experimented in different mediums of writing, such as poetry and journalism, until finally settling in screenwriting. He studied at the New York Film Academy and has assisted on several independent film projects since 2006. Alongside Julius B. Kelly and Christina Chu, he co-founded Sunnyside Down Productions in late 2009. Giancarlo spent his time at Sunnyside producing short films that explored the darker side of life, with films such as the mystery drama, "The Angel to Help Me Sleep", the surrealistic "(x+)", and the slasher film, "Sex & Violence."
In early 2011, he co-founded C.G.O. & G.ORE Entertainment, LLC with his brother, Cesar G. Orellana. Together, they've produced many short films from horror to comedy to romance such as "Adhesive Love," "Mixed Signals," "Scarlet," "Possession of Amy," and "Non-Sequitur." C.G.O. & G.ORE is currently submitting the short film, "Based on True Events", from a screenplay by Brit Godish and directed by Humberto Guzman, to multiple film festivals. In post-production is the upcoming werewolf short film, "The Hunted," written and directed by Giancarlo Orellana. Giancarlo lives by the motto, "It's not about the idea. It's about the execution."
