- People always say that I'm a lot nicer than they thought I would be initially. Like all people with tattoos are serial killers or something. I always think of myself as a friendly, down-to earth, Mid-Westerner who is goofy and loves to laugh. I have a dark side, and I have demons like everyone else, but you won't see that side of me unless you're asking for it. Did that just sound like a threat? Here I am saying I'm friendly and then threatening you all in the same sentence. Whoops.
- I grew up watching Bruce Lee films, but it wasn't until I was much older that I realized how much I appreciate his philosophical views. I don't like using the word "hero", but his legacy and everything that he seemed to be is definitely an inspiration to me.
- With me, I am very sensitive and empathetic, but I also have misanthropic tendencies. This may seem like a convoluted or hypocritical thing to outsiders, but I strongly know where I stand with my outlook on humanity. I really, really do seek to help people in need. But there is no room in my heart for liars, manipulators, users, or people who inflict pain or violence on the innocent.
- I have a very strong personality and most people like cream in their coffee; I like mine black. I am not for everyone. And as sensitive as I am, truth is of more importance to me than being popular.
- I don't care if you live in a cardboard box or a mansion, I'm not going to treat you differently because of it. I either like the person that you are or I don't. And I'm not capable of faking that. Well, I'm capable, but I would never want to do that. Unless I have to be cooperative with you in a professional setting, there are no exceptions. I take my work very seriously. And I try to keep my social life uncluttered. You know, save the drama for the camera as much as I can.
- Have your opinions and talk about them, but don't think you are elite because you can afford artistic opportunities that others are not able to. I hope that nobody is making art so that they can feel superior to others. I feel that this mindset defeats the purpose entirely.
- Dale Dickey is a god d*mn boss.
- Hesher. What a great film.
- I believe in good old fashioned hard work. I have never been the type to viciously claw my way to the top. I'm climbing the ladder very slowly but surely, and I'm doing it the honest way. Lying, manipulating, or selling my soul? Definitely not for me. I have no regrets about the way I've conducted myself while striving to grow my career. I am flawed of course, but I always go into everything with good intentions. I try to be kind. I am proud of that. I never try to take others down to get ahead. I am only in a competition with myself. To be honest, I do wish I had more of a career, but I am trying very hard. It's been a long and rocky journey, but I'm still banking on sweat and persistence. I'm mostly just trying to become a better person while doing what it is that I love. I hope someday I can work consistently. And I hope that I can make a decent living by just making art and helping others. Especially my mom. She sacrificed everything for me. Everything. It'd be a dream come true to be able to buy her a little house where she can be comfortable. And maybe buy myself a little cabin to retreat to when I'm not working. That's the dream. (2022).
- I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Wet Hot American Summer and Curb Your Enthusiasm are some of my favorite shows.
- I just want to work with Sylvester Stallone. I need to. I have to.
- There's a Yelawolf lyric that goes something like "I'm too rock for hip-hop, too hip-hop for rock n' roll, too city for rednecks, and I'm too country for city folks. But I don't give a fxck what they want from me, I can only give 'em what I know." and I think that describes me to a T. I am from a small blue-collar town in the Mid-West that was surrounded by corn fields, my mama grew up in a trailer, I spent summers with my papa and some family in Louisiana, I've got Native American and Central American blood in me, and I've spent a lot of my adult life in Los Angeles. Growing up, I went through phases where I was preppy, sporty, an A-student who went to Eminem shows, a drop-out in punk bands, etc. I'm all over the place. But that's just who I am. I'm influenced by so many different cultures and places. Don't put me in a box.
