Prabhat Raghunandan

Prabhat Raghunandan, born in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh to a family of educationists. After primary education in his hometown he moved to Delhi for further schooling. In 2001 he went to study Korean language in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), got a scholarship to study in Korea in 2003.
It was in JNU where Prabhat started exploring himself while doing theatre with Bahroop Arts Group. His 4 years journey on stage brought him at the gate of Film and Television Institute of India(FTII) where he was selected to study 'Acting' in 2005.
After training at FTII, Prabhat made his debut on big screen with criticality acclaimed film '404' in 2011. Soon followed a mini series based on Tagore's novel 'Gora'(2012)where he portrayed a layered and complexed character of 'Binoy'. In 2015 he did a short film 'The Space Between', an intense story about a homosexual couple. The film was screened at IFFLA, Los Angeles and Stuttgart Film Festival, Germany. Being part of independent films like 'Handover'(2011), 'A Billion Colour Story'(2016), 'Maali'(2020) brought him critical acclaim. Prabhat saw more commercial success with 'Dolly Kitty aur wo chamakte sitare'(2019), 'Durgamati'(2020). His last short film 'Sonsi'(2020) won National Award and qualified for OSCAR.
Prabhat's upcoming projects include an Amazon web series, a legal drama 'Guilty Mind', a spy thriller movie 'Agent Durga' and a psychological family drama film 'Dhatura'.
