Matt Newman is a British actor working and residing in Cape Town, South Africa. Originally from Essex, his professional career started at the age of 14 when he was cast as Rick in the 6 part BBC Television series 'Kevin and Co'. At 18, he moved to Surrey to train at The Guildford School of Acting, where he graduated in 1999. After 12 years of working in the industry in the UK and Europe, he decided to relocate to Cape Town to pursue various TV, Film and Theatre opportunities. In 2015 he produced and appeared on stage in a production of 'COCK' by Mike Bartlett, and following a sellout season, the production returned the following year before going to the National Arts Festival in Makhanda, where it won a Standard Bank Ovation Award.
