Welcome to this week’s Impact Wrestling review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and this show is a special called “Cali Combat”, which sounds like a PBS kids show created by David Mamet. Little Cali walked by the bakery on her way to Grandma’s, went inside and beat the $#!@ out of the clerk. Mamet never really got the gist of comedy, but neither did Jimmy Fallon. Stop laughing during the !&%#?@! sketches @$$-hole! Round up Jimmy Fallon, Jennifer Garner and Oprah Winfrey and punch ‘em all in the balls. Okay, I think it’s time to review Cali Combat, which features multiple title matches. Meatballs away!
Match #1: Michael Elgin vs. Rhino Ends (Double Countout) The following is courtesy of impactwrestling.com:
Let them loose! Elgin and Rhino brawl around the ringside area in the early going. Elgin attempts a Moonsault off the top but Rhino avoids it.

Welcome to this week’s review of Impact Wrestling, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a few big matches to get to, so let’s get to them before the guy in the first row falls asleep.
Match #1: Jake Crist def. Aiden Prince – X-Division Championship Match The following is courtesy of impactwresting.com:
Jake hits a series of superkicks in the early going. Aiden attempts a 450 Splash but Jake gets his knees up. Aiden connects with a reverse Hurricanrana for a two count! Jake cuts off Aiden in mid-air with a superkick on the floor. Aiden hits a Brainbuster, followed by the 450 Splash for a near fall! Aiden goes back up to the top but Jake hits him with the Cutter to win!
My Opinion: 3 out of 5 – This was a good prize fight that didn’t quite stand with the best X-Title fights in history,...

Match #1: Peter Avalon defeated Jordan Clearwater
My Opinion: 2.5 out of 5 – This was a solid match that moved well and didn’t leave a bad taste in my mouth after it was done.
Match #2: Reno Scum defeated Rockness Monsters
My Opinion: 2.5 out of 5 – This was a decent match that had enough action to last for the ten or so minutes it was booked for. Reno isn’t a great team yet, but they are firm enough to withstand pressure. What the hell does that even mean? This wasn’t one of the great matches, but it worked for what it was.

Welcome to this review of Impact Wrestling’s Unbreakable event, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have several big matches here to cover, so let’s jump right into this before I knock a vase over and prove the title wrong.
Match #1: Ray Rosas & Peter Avalon defeated Chris Bey & Watts
My Opinion: 2.5 out of 5 – This was a pretty good match that had enough quick action to make this chunk of time fly by, but not stick around in your memory. Every-body here performed well, but it all seemed like this entire match was only booked to fill time, which is a shame given the talent involved. Hey, at least these guys got on Pay Per View.
Match #2: Jake Crist defeated Trey, Ace Austin, Danny Rivera and Adrian Quest – X-Division Title Match

Match #1: Jordynne Grace def. Kiera Hogan The following is courtesy of impactwrestling.com:
The match is about to get started when Madison Rayne interrupts and joins Josh Mathews and Don Callis on commentary. Kiera goes for a dive but Jordynne catches her in mid-air and connects with a suplex on the floor! Kiera attempts another dive, this time connects, and regains control of the match. Jordynne hits a powerful sit-down powerbomb! Jordynne connects with a modified Grace Driver for a near fall! Kiera hits a series of running dropkicks in the corner for a two count. Jordynne hits Kiera with an Electric Chair on the floor.

Welcome to this week’s review of Impact Wrestling, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have the Mash-Up Tournament this week, which is some-thing like the Lethal Lottery of World Championship Wrestling fame. The winner of this tournament gets a title shot, I think. This feels like something Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling used to do and got insulted for. Okay, it’s time to find out if we have a good one on our hands or not.
Match #1: Moose & Eddie Edwards def. Rohit Raju & Cody Deaner – Mash-Up Tournament 1st Round Match The following is courtesy of impactwrestling.com:
Cody hits the ropes but Moose hits him in the back with a knee. Cody knocks Moose off the apron but the distraction allows Eddie to gain control with a belly-to-belly suplex on Cody. Moose and Eddie are working together well in the early going as they...

Welcome to this review of Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary Pay Per View, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have some big matches on this card, so let’s not waste time playing grab ass and just get right to them.
Match #1: Willie Mack beat Tjp, Trey and Jake Crist – Fatal Four Way Match
This was a fun, frenetic bit of wrestling that served as an appetizer to the card ahead.
My Opinion: 3 out of 5 Match #2: The North beat Lax and The Rascalz – Impact Tag Team Title Match
This was starting to get some-where, but it got cut off before it could do so.
My Opinion: 2.5 out of 5 Match #3: Eddie Edwards beat Killer Kross – First Blood Match
This was a good brawl that had some nice fighting in it, but it felt like a timid version of what should have been here, mainly a true Hardcore Match.

Welcome to this review of Impact Wrestling’s Bash at The Brewery 2019, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have an entire show held in a brewery. I don’t know why they went for this, but I guess Madison Square Garden isn’t returning their calls. This could be a very interesting venue to wrestle in, as long as everybody resists the urge to have a beer bash battle royal. Okay, let’s watch a bunch of drunks watch some people pretend to beat the snot out of each other at $30 a pop.
Match #1: The Rascalz beat Matthew Palmer, “Dirty” Andy Dalton & Steve O Reno – 6 Man Tag Team Match
This had some nice action, but so does an episode of Family Guy (chicken fight). There was nothing bad here, but nothing great either. Everything went well for what they tried, but this was just a bunch of moves to me.

Okay, let’s see if this is a train-wreck or not. Hey, once there’s a (possible) mutilation involved, shouldn’t that dampen my spirits, just a little bit?
Match #1: Tessa Blanchard def. Jake Crist The following is courtesy of impactwrestling.com:
Tessa hits a cutter in the early going, followed by multiple dives through the ropes to the floor! Tessa jumps off the top but Jake cuts her off with a mid-air superkick! Jake remains in control with a series of wrestling moves, including a side Russian legsweep and powerslam. Tessa begins to build momentum but Jake puts a stop to it by raking her eyes. Jake hits a Death Valley Driver for a two count.

Match #1: Ace Austin beat Eddie Edwards, Petey Williams, Jake Crist, Aiden Prince and Cousin Jake – 6 – Man Scramble Match
My Opinion: 3 out of 5 – This was all sorts of fantastic moves. Everybody had a dance partner if they wanted one, which helps things quite a bit. It’s a shame that Eddie got stuffed in this match at the last minute, but this definitely proves that Eli Drake is truly out of Impact, since he was supposed to wrestle Eddie originally. Hey, Petey got on PPV, so that’s another great piece of news. As for the match, this was the greatest hits kind of thing, but gloriously so. Over-all, Ace...

Welcome to this review of Impact Wrestling’s United We Stand, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and it’s time to see if this was any good.
Match #1: Impact World Champion Johnny Impact def. Jake Crist, Dante, Pat Buck & Ace Austin – #1 Contenders Match for the X-Division Championship
My Opinion: 3 out of 5 – This turned out just fine, but I wish that it…you know what I’m going to say…lasted longer. The spots looked excellent and the pace was swift, so it all moved along quite well.
Match #2: Team Lucha Underground def. Team Impact
My Opinion: 2.5 out of 5 – The action was a bit lame, but at least some very talented wrestlers got another shot at showing what they can do. In some ways, this might be the final time we see Lucha Underground in any facet, so there’s that, at least.

Welcome to this week’s Impact Wrestling review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have more from this version of Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling, which still feels like a cheap WWE knock-off despite the testimony of so many other people. Actually, this also feels like a cheap Extreme Championship Wrestling knock-off as well, so take that as you will. Then again, Impact gets very low ratings these days, so perhaps the compliments are more from the reviewers than anything else. It’s weird how the same people that complained about how bad Vince Russo and Hulk Hogan’s booking of Tna/Impact was are willing to praise Don Callis and Scott D’Amore for making the same mistakes. It’s like reading all of those reviews of Star Wars: The Last Jedi from critics and seeing them claim that there was a plot concocted by the...

Impact Wrestling presented its Homecoming pay-per-view on Sunday night, returning home to the original stomping grounds of Tna Wrestling, the Asylum at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds.
Two new champions were crowned on the show, including another confusing main event where Johnny Impact defeated Brian Cage, but the live crowd didn't seem too thrilled with the result.
(1) Rich Swann def. Jake Crist, Ethan Page, Trey Miguel to win the X-Division Championship
Of course, they opened the show with the flippy spotfest match! That's Impact's M.O. and has been for a number of years, going all the way back to the Tna days, so it's appropriate to open with the X Division on a "homecoming" themed show.

Gama Singh gets in the ring and Rohit attacks Fallah off the distraction. Fallah hits a double crossbody on Gilbertti and Drake. Fallah takes out everyone with a huge centipede Boston crab! Scarlett Bordeaux comes out to ringside to continue her talent search. Xavier connects with the X19 to Jake! He is looking to fly to the outside when Gama hooks his leg!

Match #1: Knockouts Champion Tessa Blanchard vs. Aaa Reina de Reinas Champion Faby Apache – Champion vs. Champion Non-Title Match The following is courtesy of Impact Wrestling:
Faby uses her experience edge to her advantage in the early going. Tessa takes down Faby with a series of clotheslines, followed by a side suplex. Faby locks in a reverse Figure Four leg lock but Tessa gets to the ropes to break it up. Faby plants Tessa face first into the mat for a near fall! Tessa hits a top rope Magnum Codebreaker but Faby kicks out! Tessa connects with the Buzzsaw Ddt to score the victory.

My Take: 2.5 out of 5 – This was a good match that felt like it should have been higher in the card and given a lot more time.

Welcome to this week’s Impact Wrestling review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a card that was contested in Mexico, for the first time in Impact’s history, I believe. Ole! Also, we have an Impact review from Bernadette Giacomazzo of WrestlingInc that we will use to supplement information for ours. Please feel free to visit WrestlingInc if you’d like to find more news and reviews about professional wrestling leagues from all over the world.
Match #1: oVe defeated Aerostar, Hijo del Vikingo, and Laredo Kid – Trios Match The following is courtesy of Bernadette Giacomazzo and WrestlingInc:
The six-man tag-team match was a great way to start off the night in Mexico, and Hijo del Vikingo — the son of Vikingo — showed a great deal of athleticism early on. His compatriots were just as impressive: not even some lethal kicks to the chest from...

Welcome to this week’s Impact Wrestling review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have more great action than you can snap at. What the hell does that even mean? Is that what Thanos did in Avengers 3? How in the hell did some-thing as dumb as a snap become popular? Have you ever met a grown man who gets drunk at the bar and starts snapping and gets really impressed by what he just did? It makes sound! Dumb-ass.
Match #1: Petey Williams beat Rich Swann
This was an excellent match that did the 50/50 booking thing, which doesn’t work. I don’t mind the idea of each man getting a victory over the other, but when they do so in matches that don’t really have much promotion behind them, it just feels trivial. It’s a shame, because the wrestling in this match was...

Welcome to this week’s Impact Wrestling review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have all sorts of things to cover, so let’s do so, before Vince McMahon tries to buy Impact… again.
Match #1: Allie and Kiera Hogan beat Su Yung and the Undead Maid of Honor – Knockout’s Tag Team Match
This was a decent match that had good character work from Yung. Su is really good at playing this Great Muta/Undertaker hybrid that still hasn’t quite found its footing yet. Allie worked hard, but still has trouble standing out from the crowd with this character. Hogan is a refreshing change of pace, at least in the small details. This wasn’t a bad way to open the card.

Match #1: The OGs (Homicide and Hernandez) beat two jobbers in a Tag Team Match
My Take: The OGs beat the hell out of two jobbers until they were dust in the wind.
Match #2: Allie beat Shotzi Blackheart – Knockout’s Match
My Take: This was a solid match that featured an exciting wrestler named Shotzi Blackheart, who could be an excellent addition to the Knockout’s Division. The action was pretty even and had lots of energy. This was a solid opener.
Match #3: Eli Drake beat Grado (w/ Katarina and Joe Hendry)
My Take: Eli and Grado had a good match. Grado has come a long way in the past three years, as has Eli Drake. I don’t know what they have in mind...
