Lukas Hanulak is an experienced and award-winning film and TV show director and producer from Slovakia. Since immigrating to Canada in 2019 with his wife and three kids, he has been a member of the Director's Guild of Canada.
He was born in former Czechoslovakia, where his longtime passion for visual and emotional storytelling began. After studying film, he enjoyed the festival success of his short film The Father (2009) and gained the opportunity for professional growth as director of a fiction crime-drama series for major film and TV producers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
In 2011-12 he participated in the Nipkow Program scholarship in Berlin, Germany intended for the professional development of European Film Professionals. As a writer, he co-created the award-winning film The Good Death (2019) - a story about voluntary assisted dying that aired on many worldwide TV markets.
In 2022, Hanulak directed and produced an award-winning film, the short drama Empty Spaces. He is interested in character-driven dramas, rite-of-passage stories, and interactive movies, and is known for his ability to create unique story interpretations and explore different visual styles and film genres.
