Nicolas Monfort studied for five years at the university (Namur and Brussels) and has obtained diplomas in literature, cinema, philosophy and cultural management.
Meanwhile he dabbled in radio, TV, editing student journals, and theatre direction.
After his studies, he worked for the Brussels Short film Festival and other festivals in prints and as a programmer. He was in the BSFF programming committee until 2021 and as such has had to watch hundreds of short films.
At the same time, he started his career as a short film director, with co-directors or solo.
In 2013 Nicolas attends a Motion Graphics training. Subsequently a friend introduces him to Metroland, a Flemish électro duo inspired by Kraftwerk. Motion Graphics is the perfect technique to translate visually their musical ideas and their collaboration includes official music videos and stage videos (the kind you see on stage during live performances).
Nicolas' wide variety of skills have given him the opportunity to work for corporate clients such as Banlieues asbl, Emakina, Rubykub, Sirris, LP Consulting, WBImages, etc. as a director, editor, motion graphics artists, subtitle technician, etc.
In his spare time, Nicolas watches a lot of movies, reads books about cinema or novels.
He also writes literature (short stories and poetry) and sometimes wins awards for it.
