Grimes and Elon Musk's daughter's name is officially a lot shorter. The musician shared a photo of her daughter on Twitter on March 23, and when someone commented "omg baby sailor mars hiiii," Grimes replied, "She's Y now, or 'Why' or just '?' (But the government won't recognize that)." Y, she appeared to say, represents "curiosity, the eternal question, and such." Grimes and Musk originally named their daughter Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, though she was nicknamed Y at the time.
This isn't the first time Grimes and Elon have decided to change one of their children's names. Their first child, a boy, was originally named X Æ A-12, but they later changed it to X Æ A-Xii - though the child's legal name is X.
However, when the article was published in March 2022, Grimes tweeted that the pair had since called it quits once more. "Me and E have...

“Elvis,” Baz Luhrmann’s drama of the rock-and-roll legend starring Austin Butler (“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”) and Tom Hanks, will world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, Variety has confirmed.

The Pale Door is the latest film that combines the western and the horror genre. In it, a gang of outlaws loses one of its members just before a robbery, then the leader Duncan’s (Zachary Knighton) clean younger brother Jake (Devin Druid) finally joins them. Eventually, things get an unexpected turn when the trunk that the gang was supposed to rob from a train doesn’t contains material goods, rather they find a young girl (Natasha Bassett) chained inside. After Duncan gets shot, the outlaws decide to seek for help in the girl’s hometown, thinking that they’ll kill two birds with one stone because the young lady promises them that a reward will be payed for her rescue. Although there’s always a weird vibe, the gang...

"I understand there was a reward?" Rlje / Shudder has released the first trailer for a horror western titled The Pale Door, the latest bloody offering from Camera Obscura director Aaron B. Koontz. After a train robbery goes bad, two brothers leading a gang of cowboys must survive the night in a ghost town inhabited by a coven of witches. This is a hell of a setup and a hell of a freaky reveal once they get to this brothel and discover what's going on. Starring Devin Druid, Zachary Knighton, Bill Sage, Pat Healy, Natasha Bassett, with Stan Shaw and Melora Walters. At first glance this reminds me of From Dusk Till Dawn, trapped in one saloon fighting off nasty demons. The witches crawling all over the ceiling are frickin' scary. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Aaron B. Koontz's The Pale Door, direct from Rlje's YouTube: The Dalton gang finds...

Having premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival way back in 2016, it has been a long road for Katie Says Goodbye. The movie spent part of 2016 and almost all of 2017 on the festival circuit, before opening internationally last year in certain places. Now, here in 2019, it finally gets a release, coming after writer/director Wayne Roberts’ subsequent film The Professor has already come and gone last month. Is this flick any better? Well, no, not really. There’s a really great performance at the center from Olivia Cooke, but it’s surrounded by one of the most miserable experiences you can imagine. A movie is a character study, one mired in pain and largely unnecessary suffering. Set in an unnamed part of the American Southwest, one somewhat lost in time, Katie (Cooke) is a seventeen year old making her way as best she can. A waitress in a diner run...

If you’re a fan of horror and western films, there’s a great sounding film coming that combines the two genres. It’s called The Pale Door and I love the concept!
The story follows “a gang of cowboys and a mysterious woman who seek shelter in a seemingly uninhabited ghost town after a disastrous train robbery. Seeking help for their wounded leader they are surprised to stumble upon a welcoming brothel in the town’s square but soon discover that the town is home to a coven of witches and blood-thirsty wolves.”
This sounds like a film that I would really enjoy. I love these kinds of stories and this could be a ton of fun. The movie has an ensemble cast that includes 13 Reasons Why star Devin Druid, Zachary Knighton (The Hitcher), Melora Walters (Magnolia), Bill Sage (We Are What We Are), Pat Healy (The Innkeepers), Stan Shaw (Rocky), Natasha Bassett,...

Exclusive: 13 Reasons Why star Devin Druid has been set to lead cast in horror-western The Pale Door, which is executive-produced by Cold In July novelist and co-producer Joe R. Lansdale. Production is under way in Oklahoma on the feature, which is repped for world sales by Amp International.
Author Lansdale is also a creative and script consultant on the film from writer-director Aaron B. Koontz (Camera Obscura). Pic follows a gang of cowboys and a mysterious woman who seek shelter in a seemingly uninhabited ghost town after a disastrous train robbery. Seeking help for their wounded leader they are surprised to stumble upon a welcoming brothel in the town’s square but soon discover that the town is home to a coven of witches and blood-thirsty wolves.
The ensemble cast includes Zachary Knighton (The Hitcher), Melora Walters (Magnolia), Bill Sage (We Are What We Are), Pat Healy (The Innkeepers), Stan Shaw (Rocky), Natasha Bassett, Noah Segan (Looper) and Tina Parker (Better Call Saul).
Script comes from Keith Lansdale, Cameron Burns and Koontz. Producers are Ashleigh Snead, Matthew Thomas, and Roman Dent, and Koontz and Burns for Paper Street Pictures. James Norrie and Inderpal Singh are also producing for Amp. David Guglielmo is casting director.
Director Koontz said, “I love the idea of mixing these two disparate worlds of horror and western, and to do so with the help of Joe and Keith Lansdale, feels like the perfect devil’s playground. It’s 3:10 To Yuma meets The Descent, but doused, and then set on fire with psychological horror. Once this gets going, it’s relentless.”
Amp’s Norrie commented, “Buyers are looking for high concept genre projects that stand out from the crowd. This is a film about cowboys battling witches. With rabid wolves and unholy ravens. The response from the market has been electric and we couldn’t be more excited to be involved.”
Druid was a breakout star in Netflix’s controversial hit 13 Reasons Why and will be returning as a key figure for season three as well as starring with Tom Hanks in upcoming historical-drama Greyhound. Knighton is a co-lead on Magnum P.I. for CBS.
Walters is a regular on the Hulu show Pen15 and Noah Segan will be seen in Rian Johnson’s upcoming crime caper Knives Out. Bill Sage can next be seen in sci-fi thriller The Wave.

Despite his output being less than prolific, I’ve been a huge fan of director Adam Gierasch for years – ever since I saw Autopsy and his stellar remake of Night of the Demons (one of the “good” remakes, even though the original is a stone-cold classic). House by the Lake is only his third feature since those films, though he was a part of the portmanteau Tales of Halloween in 2015. Surprisingly, unlike the rest of his oeuvre this film is the first Gierasch has directed that he hasn’t written – and it shows. House by the Lake is unlike any of his other films; feeling very much like a low-budget family drama instead of the usual balls to the wall horror Gierasch is associated with.
