Kristian B. Walters was born and raised in London and moved to Norway
as a teen. He now lives and works in Stavanger, Norway. Though
primarily a filmmaker, Walters is also an author and cartoonist. His
cartoons and strips have been published in over 500 publications in 10
countries. In 2000 his cult debut novel "Her Bor Jeg" (Here I Live) was
published by Egmont/CappelenDamm. His short film My Bike (Sykkelen Min)
premiered at The Norwegian International Film Festival in August 2012,
and was licensed to NRK (Norway's BBC) for 6 years and was distributed by The
Norwegian Film Institute. The film has screened at many festivals all
over the world, including the Chicago International Children's Film
Festival 2013. In 2015 his film Dot Delight also screened at the Chicago ICFF and at
Rhode Island International Film Festival in 2016 among others. In 2018 The Puppy "Valpen"
was his third film in a row to be officially selected by Chicago International Children's Film Festival.
In 2019 The Puppy went on to win Best Fiction Film at La Matatena, Mexico City and Best Short Film at
TIFF Kids International Film Festival, Tromsø. Since 2005 most of his time is spent on writing feature
screenplays and writing/directing short films. He does his own
storyboards and says directing and drawing comics have several similarities.
