Taps Hofisi
- Actor
Taps Hofisi is a film and television actor. He was born Tapera Hofisi to K.C Hofisi, a commercial farmer, and Chipo Chivanga Hofisi, a homemaker. Taps grew up at his family's farm in Guruve, Zimbabwe and attended a boarding high school. He was a member of the drama club during his time at this school, and it was there that he discovered a passion for acting. He credits going to boarding school as being instrumental in developing his sense of independence at a young age. After graduating high school, he worked on the family farm as an operations manager and was set to become a farmer. However, he felt that he needed to chart his own path in order to reach his fullest potential.
When he was 21, Taps moved to the United States to pursue an undergraduate degree. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiology and Neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego. Although he had intended on becoming a clinician, he realized that his true calling was to be an actor. He enrolled in acting class right after graduation and set off on a journey to pursue acting professionally. He initially trained with Monty Silverstone in Rancho Santa Fe, California and subsequently with Carey Scott at the Rehearsal Room Theatre in San Diego, California. He continues to train with Carey to this day. He persistently works to master his craft and views every audition and any film, television, or stage role that he gets as an opportunity to do what he loves.
