Lane Oliver

Lane Oliver was born Anderson Lane Oliver in Wilmington, North Carolina to parents Neal Oliver and Debby Oliver. He has one brother, named Joe Oliver who is a Marine Biologist in the Wilmington, NC area. Lane moved to Pilot Mountain, NC at a young age and attended High School at East Surry High School there. He played football and tennis off and on growing up but in High School he lettered in Varsity Soccer playing as goalkeeper. It was in his last 2 years of High School that he became the understudy for a company that allowed him to learn camera placement and proper filming techniques including editing. He independently directed and wrote a couple of short films starring his friends in the Pilot Mountain area. Afterwards, he retained a passion for film-making and continued that passion after high school and into college. He returned to his birthplace and attended the University of North Carolina in Wilmington to take part in their excellent Film Program.
