Aleu was born on New Year's Day in Oakland, California to an African American Navy veteran father and a Native Hawaiian/Creole preschool teacher mother. From the age of 5 she was already showing signs of creativity, from recording radio shows on her tape recorder, to drawing comic strips. By age 9, Aleu was writing full length scripts and having her school friends act them out. By age 10, she created her first fully playable board game from scratch. For high school, Aleu attended the prominent Oakland School for the Arts, where she emphasized in theater and music. At age 13, Aleu became very passionate about guitar and songwriting and is now a proficient rock guitarist and ukulele player. Aleu now lives in Los Angeles and follows her passions as a performer, singer, musician, Polynesian dancer (hula and Tahitian), photographer, underwater mermaid performer, writer and activist for Indigenous rights and animal welfare.
