Andrey Alistratov is an award winning filmmaker based in New York. His work as a cinematographer and editor appeared across multiple broadcast outlets and publications, including Netflix, MTV, PBS, The New Yorker, and MAX.
Born in Donetsk, Ukraine, Andrey came to the US with his family in 1994 and has lived in New York ever since. He studied Economics English literature and worked in finance for multiple years before shifting his career to filmmaking in 2009. Along with working on narrative and documentary films, Andrey has created commercial content for major brands including Lenovo, UNIQLO, Sotheby's and Ferrari to name a few.
Andrey's work on the Peabody winning Netflix documentary series "Immigration Nation" has earned him an Independent Spirit Award. And more recently, "Camp Courage", a short documentary film that he edited was short listed for the Academy Award.
Andrey is an active member of the Brooklyn Filmmakers Collective. When not busy with his next project, Andrey is likely camping, drinking wine or turning lumber into noise in the wood shop.
