“Solar Opposites” is ready to touch down on Earth with Season 5 on Monday, and we’re here to fill you in with all the deets.

Today, Hulu revealed the official trailer for Solar Opposites Season 5 at the San Diego Comic-Con. The fifth season premieres on August 12 and will consist of 11 episodes, followed by a Halloween special episode later this fall. A specific date was not announced.

Dan Stevens also announced via a pre-recorded video that the hit adult animation series has been renewed for a sixth season.

Solar Opposites centers around a team of four aliens who are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome. Korvo (Dan Stevens) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) only see pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty.

At the same time, Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack) love TV, junk food, and fun stuff. In season five, now that alien mission partners Terry and Korvo are married, the whole Solar Opposites team is focused on family values.

Solar Opposites is sticking around for another season at Hulu.

The Disney-owned streamer has ordered a sixth season of the animated series. The pickup was announced during the show’s time at Comic-Con in San Diego on Friday and comes a couple weeks ahead of the season five premiere on Aug. 12.

Additionally, Solar Opposites will have a Halloween special that will follow season five (which will have a binge release) that will premiere closer to the holiday.

Korvo accidentally traps Jesse in the stockiverse and must enter the posed-photo world to retrieve her.

Losing a lead actor is a nightmare scenario for any series, especially when the circumstances are as fraught and the voice work is as recognizable as Justin Roiland’s. Season four of Solar Opposites opens with Korvo getting shot in the throat by a voice-changing ray. It’s initially jarring to hear the stumbling, extremely Roiland-esque narration read by Dan Stevens, but the actor’s plummy English tones are actually a perfect fit for the uptight alien. And while a “voice-changing ray” might sound like a laughably perfunctory solution to the problem, it’s likewise a perfect fit for a show that never takes itself too seriously.

The new season begins with Korvo suggesting that his family rein in their zany antics to prevent their young Pupa (Sagan McMahan) from going berserk again. With this in mind, Korvo and Terry (Thomas Middelditch)—the parental figures in this odd alien household...

Hulu has released the official Solar Opposites season 4 trailer. The animated sci-fi comedy was created by Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan, and if I’m being honest with myself… I might love it more than Rick and Morty.

You might have noticed that Korvo is sounding a little different in the Solar Opposites season 4 trailer, and that’s because Hulu replaced previous voice actor Justin Roiland with Dan Stevens. The streaming service axed Roiland after he had been charged with felony domestic abuse, but those charges were dismissed in March. “This case was dismissed as a result of insufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt,” said Orange County District Attorney’s Office spokesperson Kimberly Edds.

Justin Roiland took to social media to comment on the charges against him being dismissed. “I have always known that these claims were false — and I never had any doubt that this day would come,...

“Solar Opposites” may feature a new voice in its core lineup, but it’s just as ridiculous as ever. The Season 4 trailer teases more of the shenanigans the series is known for, this time with Dan Stevens replacing Justin Roiland as the voice of Korvo. The animated comedy returns Aug. 14.

After briefly addressing Korvo being hit with a “voice fixing ray,” the trailer skips along to business as usual for Hulu’s animated comedy. Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Korvo (Stevens) almost kill their baby-like charge, the Pupa, by leaving him in a hot car. Jesse (Mary Mack) adds more shrunken humans to her wall collection. Terry turns into a human, complete with a butthole. If all of this sounds insane, that’s the vibe.

In January, 20th Century Animation and Hulu Originals confirmed Justin Roiland would be removed from “Solar Opposites” and “Koala Man” and that both series would continue without his involvement.

Hulu’s Solar Opposites will sound different when it returns for its fourth season. Solar Opposites co-creator Justin Roiland, who voiced Korvo for three seasons, is out. The new season finds the grumpy alien has adopted a distinctly British accent, thanks to Dan Stevens stepping in and taking over the voice role. And the just-released trailer provides our first real look at/listen to the major shift.

In addition to Dan Stevens, season four features Thomas Middleditch back as Terry, Sean Giambrone reprising his role as Yumyulack, and Mary Mack returning as Jesse. Mike McMahan and Josh Bycel serve as executive producers.

Earlier this year, animation superstar Justin Roiland was fired by the animated Hulu series “Solar Opposites” that he co-created after he faced a series of allegations of domestic violence and disturbing workplace and online actions. Roiland denied the allegations and the domestic violence charges were later dropped.

While Roiland co-wrote the “Solar Opposites” pilot with showrunner Mike McMahan, he did not have a writing credit since, but served the very recognizable voice of Korvo, the perennially ticked-off lead character. Korvo is sounding a little different in a first look at Solar Opposites‘ fourth season, which Hulu has unveiled timed to the casting announcement of Dan Stevens. The actor known for his roles in shows like Legion and Downton Abbey is bringing a little English flare to the alien character previously voiced by since-ousted voice star Justin Roiland. In order to help welcome Stevens to the fold, there needed to be an explanation for the drastic voice change, and thankfully animators have fans covered. In a tease for the fourth season, which arrives Monday, August 14 with all 11 episodes on Hulu, Terry (Thomas Middleditch), Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone), and Jesse (Mary Mack) are talking about a set of darts Terry begins to set up in their house. Five months after Hulu cut ties with Solar Opposites co-creator Justin Roiland, the streamer has tapped Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey, Legion) to take his place as the voice of Korvo.

Roiland was dropped by Hulu earlier this year after being charged with one count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud or deceit — all connected to an incident that allegedly occurred in 2020 with an unidentified woman. Despite being cleared of those charges in March, Roiland will not return to the show.

20th Television Animation and Hulu Originals have joined Adult Swim in cutting ties with “Rick and Morty” and “Solar Opposites” co-creator and “Koala Man” executive producer Justin Roiland.

The move comes nearly two weeks after Roiland was charged with felony domestic violence related to an incident that first surfaced in a January 2020 criminal complaint.

“We have ended our association with Justin Roiland,” a spokesperson for Hulu Originals and 20th TV Animation told TheWrap in a statement.

“Solar Opposites” and “Koala Man” will continue without Roiland’s involvement.

One day after Adult Swim cut ties with Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland over his recent domestic abuse charges, Hulu has also made a decision about its working relationship with Roiland.

“We have ended our association with Justin Roiland,” a spokesperson for 20th Television Animation and Hulu Originals tells TVLine.

Hulu loves those Solar Opposites. The streaming service announced at a panel during New York Comic-Con that season 5 of Solar Opposites is on the way as they have renewed the adult animated comedy series.

Hulu already renewed the series for a fourth season last year. Solar Opposites was created by Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan and centers around a group of aliens who crash land in suburban America after fleeing their exploding home-world. In between adjusting to life on Earth, Korvo (Justin Roiland), Terry (Thomas Middleditch), Jesse (Mary Mack), and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) must protect Pupa, a living super-computer who will one day evolve into its true form and terraform the Earth. The third season of the series wrapped up earlier this summer, but the series recently got spooky with A Sinister Halloween Scary Opposites Solar Special, which launched on Hulu on October 3rd.

Solar Opposites hasn’t even begun its fourth season, and Hulu already is wanting more: The streamer announced today at New York Comic-Con that it has renewed the series for a fifth season.

Season 4 of the comedy, composed of 12 episodes, won’t debut until next year. Season 3 of the series premiered July 13, and the Halloween special Sinister Halloween Scary Opposites Solar Special dropped on October 3.

Hulu has renewed adult animated comedy “Solar Opposites” for its fifth season. The news was announced at a panel discussion about the series at New York Comic Con on Thursday.

The Season 5 renewal comes before the show’s fourth season has even debuted. Season 3 of the series arrived on Hulu in July, with Season 4 set to premiere with 12 episodes sometime in 2023. The series has aired several holiday specials, most recently “Sinister Halloween Scary Opposites Solar Special,” which arrived on Hulu on Oct. 3.

Solar Opposites is staying in Hulu’s galaxy for even longer than anticipated.

The Disney-backed streamer has handed out yet another early renewal for the animated comedy from creators Justin Roiland (Rick & Morty) and Mike McMahan (Star Trek: Lower Decks). The news, which was announced Thursday at New York Comic-Con, comes after season three of the series wrapped in July and days after its Halloween episode, A Sinister Halloween Scary Opposites Solar Special, dropped on the platform.

Season four — which was announced in June 2021 — will consist of 12 episodes and debut in 2023. An episode count for season five and a premiere time frame have not been revealed. Animated shows often score early renewals as they take considerably longer to produce.

The first trailer for Solar Opposites‘ 2022 Halloween special – “A Sinister Halloween Scary Opposites Solar Special” – finds Terry and Jesse decorating for Halloween and Korvo revealing his extreme dislike of the holiday. Apparently, Korvo hates being scared and considers the holiday much too haunting and spine-tingling.

Of course, Terry and Jesse take things way too far. A flyer promising money and a sex act in exchange for corpses results in a line that wraps around the block. Plus, the trailer confirms an appearance by the Crypt Keeper.

"Rick and Morty" co-creator Justin Roiland has had an extremely busy past couple of years. In addition to his duties writing and voicing his Emmy award-winning series for Adult Swim, he and co-creator Mike McMahan have also brought to life the alien-centric animated comedy "Solar Opposites," which just celebrated the release of its third season. 

The series follows a group of aliens who escape their exploding home planet by crash landing into a move-in ready suburban American home. What started out as a show about aliens with different views on whether or not Earth is terrific or terrible has since turned into a one way ticket to Banana Town, with Korvo (Justin Roiland), Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone), Terry (Thomas Middleditch), Jesse (Mary Mack), and Pupa (Liam Cunningham) diverting into more and more chaotic adventures with every season.
