We’re just one month away from the 2024 Oscars and all of the nominees stepped out to celebrate their achievements together at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon!

Margot Robbie, Emma Stone, Emily Blunt, and so many more A-List stars were in attendance to mingle with fellow nominees on Monday afternoon (February 12) at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Only three of the acting nominees – Robert De Niro, Danielle Brooks, and Jodie Foster – were missing from the event. 17 out of the 20 nominated actors attended!

Every year at the luncheon, a “class photo” is taken with each nominated star called up to the stage one by one. The stars who are called up first have to stand in their spot and wait for every other person to be announced before the photo is taken!

Justin Lin may be the foremost director of the "Fast and Furious" franchise, but he's taking a break from the Hollywood big leagues for his next film: an indie movie about the misguided missionary John Allen Chau. Before helming half of the entries in one of the most successful blockbuster series in modern times, Lin directed indie movies that centered on the Asian-American communities of Southern California, including the quirky comedy "Shopping for Fangs" and the Sundance Grand Jury Prize-nominated "Better Luck Tomorrow."

Lin directed "Shopping for Fangs" with Quentin Lee when they were both students in UCLA's film school in 1997. The film marks the acting debut of John Cho, who would go on to work with Lin on his follow-up feature, "Better Luck Tomorrow," as well as years later on "Star Trek Beyond." Alex Perry has gone from hammering nails to trimming them.

The Seattle, Washington, resident used to be a housing contractor in the early 2000s. The work was grueling but it was also plentiful and paid well. Then the housing bubble burst in 2008, and the jobs started to disappear.

According NPR, Perry him found himself taking whatever contract work he could get at rapidly decreasing prices.

“I felt like I was working to make about $12 an hour for work that I used to get $50-60 an hour to do. It was very demoralizing,” Perry told NPR.

Venice, Aug 29 (Ians/Aki) Hollywood stars George Clooney and Sandra Bullock kicked off the Venice Film Festival with the world premiere of science-fiction thriller "Gravity".

In the movie by Mexican director Alfonso Curaon, 52-year-old Clooney and 49-year-old Bullock play two astronauts cast into deep space when a debris shower destroys their shuttle.

Clooney and Bullock Wednesday shared a few laughs together, waved to fans and posed for photographers after arriving in a water taxi.

Sandra Bullock and George Clooney have arrived in Venice to promote their upcoming movie Gravity at the city's 70th annual International Film Festival today (August 28).

The 49-year-old actress wore a colour block Alex Perry dress and tan Giuseppe Zanotti heels as she arrived by water taxi with 52-year-old Clooney for the film's photocall at the Sala Grande.

The Hollywood pair were photographed sharing jokes on the boat before meeting with the sci-fi thriller's director Alfonso Cuaron for the screening, which opened the world's oldest film festival.

Clooney and Bullock play astronauts who become stranded in space after their shuttle is destroyed by debris in the follow-up to director and co-writer Cuaron's Children of Men.

Gravity will have its world premiere at the festival's Palazzo del Cinema tonight.

Other stars set to attend the festival include Matt Damon, Nicolas Cage and Scarlett Johansson, with director Bernardo Bertolucci heading up the competition's jury.

With the adoption of tablets and smartphones, watching TV has become something audiences participate in rather than just sit back and watch.

According to former Channel 4 executive Matt Locke, founder of multiplatform producer Storythings, some 60% of UK viewers now have a laptop or tablet computer running while they are watching television and are very often commenting on the show unfolding. "There has been a big consumer uptake of tablets and iPhones; we started noticing people talking about shows while watching them," says Locke.

Given this boom in so-called "second screen" viewing, there are some cutting-edge television creatives in the industry who predict that the traditional TV set in the corner of the lounge is in danger of turning into the second screen. "Tablets...

The results of the first ever Encore Score, an on air talent ranking designed for marketers and TV networks, were announced at the Mumbrella360 conference this morning.

By far the most popular Australian personality is Hugh Jackman with an Encore Score of 426 while Kyle Sandilands was the least popular with a score of -299.

The survey quizzed 2965 members of the public about 738 personalities. Survey respondents were asked which celebrities they recognised and how much they liked or hated each personality.

The intention of the Encore Score is to provide an indicator to brands and programmers about which personalities are most bankable with audiences.

Each respondent saw 100 names and images. Each celebrity was seen by an average of 360 respondents. A formula was then applied to the results that took into account how many people ‘liked’ them, ‘hated’ them and ‘recognised’ them, resulting in the Encore Score ((%favourite – %hate x level of...

The nominations for the 10th annual Astra awards have been announced, with Killing Time (TV1), the second season of Spirited (W) and Tim Winton's cloudstreet (showcase) are competing for the honour of most outstanding drama.

Ninety five entries were selected across 21 categories for the subscription television awards.

Fox8's teen drama series SLiDE has been received a nod in the most outstanding use of innovation in programming category for its multiplatform strategy.- which saw entertainment company Hoodlum create an interactive website featuring graphic novels, music and webisodes.

Not all content recognised is local. Subscribers can vote for their favourite international drama, with showcase favourite Game of Thrones competing against Haven (13th Street), Boardwalk Empire (showcase), Torchwood: Miracle Day (UKTV), Falling Skies (Fox8) and True Blood (showcase).

The 10th annual Astra awards will be held at Sydney Theatre on June 21.

Melbourne, August 03: Curvy Sydney-born Robyn Lawley, has become the first plus-size model to feature in Vogue Australia.

The magazine has published its first ever plus-size fashion shoot in the style bible's 52-year history.

Lawley stars in the magazine's September issue in a series of sleek monochrome shots modelling designs from Alex Perry, Willow and Carla Zampatti.

But, the decision to cast Lawley, who has already graced the covers of Vogue Italia and French Elle, is no headline-grabbing gimmick, the editor of Vogue Australia, Kirstie Clements, said.

Alex Perry has revealed that he has cut down on smoking to mark World No Tobacco Day.
