The CEO of Abs-cbn has lifted the lid on how the media conglom’s first variety show collaboration with former network rival GMA typifies a new era of business for the Filipino company.

Abs-cbs teamed with GMA to air the popular midday variety show It’s Showtime, which will air from April 6 on GMA’s main channel.

The series is a long-running franchise that first premiered in 2009 on Abs-cbn, 11 years before the company lost its broadcasting license due to a Philippines’ National Telecommunications Commission order in 2020.

Since then, the Filipino media giant has pivoted to focus on content production, partnering with other companies to distribute shows domestically. It’s Showtime is Abs-cbn’s second collaboration with GMA, after previously working together on drama series Unbreak My Heart last year. In exclusive comments made to Deadline, Abs-cbn CEO Carlo Katigbak explained the strategic pivot.

The heroic, pizza-loving inhabitants of New York City’s stinky sewer system will appear in a newly-announced side-scrolling game at the end of this October.

Through press release means, Activision and Nickelodeon have revealed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a “side-scrolling action brawler,” which is in development for Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo 3Ds. Part of a three-game deal that was reached between the two aforementioned companies, it is based on the television series of the same name, and will begin beating up criminals on October 22.

Citing data from the Npd Group, Activision announced today that total sales of the Skylanders franchise — which includes the original Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure, last year’s Skylanders Giants, and all their accessory packs and figures — have surpassed $500 million in retail sales in the U.S. alone. Additionally, between January and November 2012 Skylanders figures were the best-selling toy in the country and outperformed brands such as WWE and Star Wars.

$195 million of the total sales were credited to the Skylanders Giants game (ranked 8th on the December 2012 Npd top 10 chart) and its associated accessory packs and figures. Making that sales feat even more impressive is the fact that all of that merchandise hit retailers less than three months ago.

An American adult toy company is courting pervy holiday shoppers with "Just-In Beaver," a blow-up sex doll modeled after pop star Justin Bieber.

According to Gigwise, the "Just-In Beaver" love doll -- which is obviously unlicensed -- is supposed to resemble the Canadian musician. A photo of the product's packaging features lines like "Finally 18! Ready To Rock Your World" and "I Wanna Be Your Boy Toy!" There's also a reference to his girlfriend Selena Gomez and how she can do something to get the "Gold Off My Grammy!" (Editor's note: we will never feel clean again.)

The details on the product leave little to the imagination, stating Bieber is a "barely legal boy-toy" who has waited 18 years to be, er, sexually active. The packaging also declares "I'm Not Gay (ok, maybe a lil')." According to the product site , the vinyl doll was made in China and, well, you can read for yourself.
