Saw 3D The Final Chapter (Blu-Ray)Lionsgate Home Entertainment2010/90 mins/UnratedList Price $39.99 – Now AvailableThe Saw franchise is actually a guilty pleasure for me, I like these films. Strange, since the first time I saw the original, it didn't click with me. I grew tired of its many subplots and flashbacks plus trying to guess exactly who the Jigsaw killer was. Once his identity was revealed, it gave the brilliant Tobin Bell the opportunity to create one of the most iconic villains in the horror genre. Except when you look at it from a certain point of view, Jigsaw isn't really a villain. He's not a serial killer either, but a scientist and philosopher, hoping to give people a new appreciation for their lives through trials by fire. At least that's how he looks at it. But you have to hand it to Jigsaw. Those few who survive his deadly traps...

Saw 3D Soundtrack CoverSideways Media provided a free CD of the Saw 3D soundtrack for review and the tracks were a heavy metal delight. However, there is more than just hard rock in these sixteen tracks. There is technology influenced rock, some blues, thrash and pop rock. Pop rock almost always gets an immediate fail here, but heavier tracks like "Goliath" by Karnivool, "Bad Ass" by Salive and "The World Belongs to Me" by My Darkest Days make up for what the soundtrack lacks. These are excellent choices for a film that deserves heavier, authentic sounds. A more specific review inside.

The Saw 3D soundtrack. The last piece of the puzzle… is you… and Chester Bennington out of Linkin Park…
Yes that’s right folks, just when you were recovering from Justin Timberlake’s decent performance in The Social Network, Mr Shut-Up-When-i’m-Talking-To-You has thrown his hat into Hollywood’s increasingly ludicrous ring by portraying a man at the mercy of the killer Jigsaw in Saw 3D. One can only imagine the production meeting: ‘we got our ass kicked by Paranormal Activity last year… if only there was someone with no acting experience and lots of tattoos who could come along and save the production… if only Fred Durst wasn’t busy…” Next month: Wes Borland and that guy from Papa Roach are… Tango and Cash Reloaded.
So aside from the surprise appearance of the lead singer from one of the most soul-crushingly awful yet commercially successful American bands of all...
