Manuel Concha(II)

Manuel wrote and directed the successful feature film Suedi, which broke all records in 2021, and became the most-watched feature in Sweden with millions of viewers. Manuel was nominated for Best Screenplay at the Swedish Academy Awards, Guldbaggen 2022. Educated at Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts with a Master in Film Direction, Manuel is considered one of the most prominent directors in Scandinavia. His ability to direct mainstream films with an auteurism approach makes him a well-sought director. Manuel debuted with his film Mañana 2008 and his second film Den Enda Vägen (Blind Alley), a critical success in Sweden. With Suedi, a drama-comedy, Manuel showed his versatile ability to make films in different genres. Manuel has directed several well-known awarded TV-series such as ALEX (most viewed TV-show 2017), Heder, Bäckström, and Starke Man (nominated for a Swedish Emmy Award).

Manuel was born and raised in Malmö, Sweden. His parents immigrated from Chile in the '70s. Manuel speaks Swedish, Spanish, and English fluently. Manuel resides in Stockholm and Los Angeles.
