Joa's passion for performance
began at a young age, when she began working in Theater. After
graduating high school, she moved to New York City where she studied
Performing Arts at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York
University's Tisch School of the Arts. She continued studies in Puerto
Rico where she finished a Bachelor's Degree in Theater and a Masters
Degree in Creative Writing from the University of the Sacred Heart. She
has been working in Theater, Film and Radio in Puerto Rico for the past
10 years. She gained recognition for her roles in the short film
'Jessika' and the feature film 'I am a Director' which won her two Best
Actress Awards at the Rincon International Film Festival in Puerto
Rico. She has appeared USA Networks'Royal Pains and Lifetime
Television's 'Stranded'. Most recently she was part of a Master Class
by Academy Award winning actor-director Tim Robbins in the XII Festival
Iberoamericano de Teatro de Bogota, in Colombia.
