Inspired by an artist mother and architect father at a very young age,
Craig Ormiston engaged himself in and evolved through a world of
imaginative personal projects - from constructing plastic models to
illustrating graphic art and posters to designing video game levels. As
he reflected upon the multitude of hobbies, it dawned on him that the
art of producing movies - that film - stands as the all-inclusive,
ultimate culmination of the arts, employing a combination of his
adolescent hobbies to generate a final product. Allured by the blend of
his pastimes, inspired by the leadership potentials involved, and
attracted to the social opportunities associated with production, at
16, Ormiston invested in a decent camera and, with several friends,
started to play around within the world of cinema. Together, Craig Ormiston,
Evan Moseley, Andrew Smith, David Fox, and Brian Rogers created "Third Bridge
Productions," a filmmaking group that would end up making numerous
short films including The Elevator (2005) and Contention (2006). After high school, Craig Ormiston
continued his pursuits in filmmaking at the University of Southern
California in Los Angeles.
