Eddie Jackson is helming a new series for Food Network — “Outchef’d” — and the competition, between skilled home cooks, will be not only fierce, but surprising. In fact, the new show, which TheWrap has exclusive details about, will surprise home cooks who turn up for an audition only to end up in head-to-head competition against a world-renowned chef.
The competition brings the heat (thanks to the pressure of the surprise) and starts off with with a star-ingredient themed cooking round.

“Top Chef” season 15 ended on March 8, 2018 with host Padma Lakshmi revealing the winner chosen by two renowned chefs — Tom Colicchio and Graham Elliot — and award-winning food writer Gail Simmons. To be showcased on this Emmy-winning show for months on end has boosted the profile of all previous 14 winners of “Top Chef.”
We wanted to know what happened to these 14 folks in the years since they took the title. We did some digging and discovered that some of them are running their own restaurants while others work for established locations or freelance.

"Top Chef Boston" is the 12th season of Bravo's only remaining talent competition, unless "The Real Housewives" count as competitions for attention and screen time. Its first episode made a number of small changes that appeared designed to keep its contestants guessing. The premiere was also less about Boston and more about "Top Chef," as the show repeatedly pointed out its own successes. That started with the addition of new judge Richard Blais and continued with guest appearances from past contestants and one winner, and also included several contestants with ties to the show. For example, the winner of the first elimination challenge, Mei Lin, works with season-six winner Michael Voltaggio; the first person to go home, George, was Mike Isabella's business partner. Sudden death quickfire. The episode began with the potential for one chef to go home immediately. Teams of four shucked and filleted things in a mis en place relay,...

The biggest question going into the finale of "Top Chef Duels," besides who would win, was how exactly the show would go from 10 chefs to one in a single episode. The answer: very quickly. "Top Chef Duels" has been the best "Top Chef" spin-off in part because it was friendly but tough competition between talented people, but also because each episode only had two contestants who served just five plates of food each. It was, for a show that has a countdown clock, very thoughtful and deliberate but never boring. Everything from the pacing to the slow-motion footage highlighted their technique and food. By comparison, the finale felt like fast food, quick and empty. At the end of that super-fast, chaotic hour, only one chef remained standing: Chris "Cj" Jacobsen, who never made it to the finals on either of his previous two "Top Chef" appearances, won the $100,000. Tiffani Faison,...

Out Top Chef All-Stars contestant Tiffani Faison was sent packing her knives last week, but not before revealing she had a girlfriend and showing viewers at home her softer side. The second-place finisher in the inaugural season of Top Chef returned to the competition with a more relaxed and grown-up attitude. She went home after a double elimination with fellow out chef Jamie Lauren when they both stumbled on separate fish dishes. But the Boston resident succeeded in showing off not only her skills but a playfulness people never got to see her first season. She spoke with AfterEllen.com about her experience the second time around.

Another short week without NBC's Thursday Night line-up. So that this list means something (and by that, it's limited enough so that "Castle" doesn't make an entrance), there's only five episodes again in this week's Power Rankings, and neither of Showtime's new shows, "Shameless" or "Episodes," make an appearance. Hopefully, both will get better and make a run for the top 10 next week, when NBC's Thursday night-ers return (including "Parks and Recreation"), as does "Chuck" and, over on HBO, "Big Love."
5. Top Chef: spoilers. Finally, fucking finally: Jamie Lauren gets the boot, along with Tiffani Faison, in the double elimination challenge, which took pains, it seems, to avoid eliminating either Richard Blais or Marcel, since -- along with Fabio -- are the three most interesting to watch (even if Marcel is an evil little troll). I really couldn't abide one more episode of the whiny Jamie, though, so I'm glad to see her go.

Forget the well-stocked Top Chef pantry, this week the contestants had to forage for their own food - at sea. With 12 chefs still standing, it was off to Montauk, the most eastern point of New York's Long Island, and all aboard two fishing vessels for an adventure. With no Quickfire challenge to warm them up, the chefs were split into four teams of three and told to catch their own fish, then cook and serve them on the beach to 200 people. As the chefs struggled to find their sea legs, the pressure ratcheted up - and that's before any fishing lines were even cast.

A night at the museum was more like a nightmare for some contestants on Wednesday's Top Chef: All-Stars. In a demanding challenge, the 17 remaining chefs were asked in their Quickfire challenge to make a kid-friendly snack for a group of children who were spending the night at New York's American Museum of Natural History. Judging them - Joe Jonas, whose celebrity impressed some, like Antonia Lofaso, who said her young daughter would freak out if she knew her mom met the rocker. Others, like Dale Talde, weren't as star-struck. "I had no idea who Joe Jonas was," he said.

Last night, during Bravo's Top Chef reunion special, the cabler finally took the wraps off of one of television's worst-kept secrets: that next season of Top Chef would be an all-stars edition that would bring back 18 former contestants to battle it out for another chance at the title. Call it sweet justice for us fans, but after a snooze-worthy seventh season of Top Chef, the cooking competition is returning Dec. 1 (10 p.m.) for an All-Stars edition in New York City with some of our favorite past contestants, including Richard Blais (season 4), Fabio Viviani (season 5), Jennifer Carroll (season 6) and — the one I’m most excited about — Carla Hall (season 5). Judging by the full roster, Bravo went for talent in the kitchen as opposed to talent for drama, so expect a nail-biter of a season. Check out the complete list of 18 cheftestants who’ll duke it out:

If rumors are to be believed, Bravo is secretly planning an "All-Stars" season of their recently Emmy-winning "Top Chef" franchise. And though the network won't comment on the matter, a dozen competitors from previous seasons have been spotted with camera crews in New York.
Eater reports that all of the production isn't for a one-off special either, like previous "All-Star" efforts. It will be a full series following the format of regular "Top Chef," only with people we already love and don't have to spend several episodes getting to know.
This would be welcome news any time but comes as a particular relief this week after the lame and completely unjustified kick-off of Tiffany Derry, one week before final four jets off to Singapore. (Derry, if you were questioning the pertinence of this tangent, is among the cheftestants spotted on the New York set.)
