Jessica Abrams(II)
- Actress
- Writer
Jessica Abrams was born in Manhattan and raised in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to a German mother and a Jewish father. This has provided many billable hours for her therapist and much fodder for her standup. Her first love, dance, led her to Italy in her early twenties and a botched burlesque show that had her turn to writing if only to document the experience. She came to acting at the ripe age of forty, mostly because everyone thought she was an actress her entire life anyway, and also because she had secretly harbored the desire to do it but was too terrified to "act" on it. Since then, she has never looked back. In 2013 she created the web series KNOCKING ON DOORS, based on her very real experiences going door-to-door as a social science field interviewer. It garnered several awards both for writing and acting and solidified her abilities as a comedic voice and multi-hyphenate. Since then, she appeared in SURVIVE THE NIGHT, opposite Bruce Willis, recently on Jimmy Kimmel Live and on various stages around the country performing standup.
