Mr. Barry was born in New York in the later part of the 1970's to Dr.
Dana Barry, Space Scientist and creator of the first Moon and Mars
Mission (Clarkson University) and James F. Barry, III. (Retired
Chemistry Professor)
He broke into the acting industry as a print model beginning in 1985 for science text and lab books used in middle and high schools throughout the United States. He can been seen in numerous publications as a student doing lab experiments.
Brian also had a profound interest in music and art from a young age and pursued both of those fields as well. He holds two Master Degrees from Hofstra University. The first was conferred in 2006: Masters in Fine Arts, Humanities and Creative Arts and Culture. The second MA was bestowed on him in 2008 in Speech, Rhetoric, and Performance Studies and Documentary film.
The latter degree enabled Mr. Barry to create a documentary film entitled: "Going Against the Grain: American Pop Culture" which featured interviews with founding member of Sha Na Na, Dr. Robert Leonard; and member of Frank Zappa's Mothers of Inventions. In addition it featured the late George E. Nahas and Timothy Carey, whom produced the film "The World's Greatest Sinner" which was the first film in 1957 which Frank Zappa scored a soundtrack form. Barry's film is available on DVD.
Early connections with WWF Wrestler Hacksaw Jim Duggan (whom Brian's mom worked with his sister) helped secure work for Mr. Barry in X-Files, Sopranos, I am Legend, The Balloonist, and other work.
In 1995, Brian was part of a family project to record a music album. The Album entitled "The Barrytones: Chemical Sensation" was recorded live in the studios at W.S.L.U. Fm Radio at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. and features Mr. Barry on guitar, harmonica, and vocals. The album helped promote science education in the classroom and was produced by Dr. Barry.
Mr. Barry is current a principal Actor and a member of SAG-AFTRA. He also holds a lifetime "Class A" FCC Radio License which he earned in March of 1995.
