Karen Ballard is a local 600, Los Angeles based award winning photographer. She has worked around the world both as an accomplished photojournalist and as a unit photographer on major motion pictures starting in 2005 with Steven Spielberg's epic film "Munich." She has gone on to shoot a variety of features and series, including most recently Mark Wahlberg's film "Father Stu" and the hit show for HBO Max, Season 2 of "Hacks." Other features include the Wahlberg film "Patriots Day", the Bond feature, "Quantum of Solace," the Reese Witherspoon comedy "Home Again", Tom Cruise as "Jack Reacher," Sylvester Stallone's "Rambo", "The Expendables," and the South Africa indie featuring Jamie Dornan in "The Siege of Jadotville" to name a few.
Prior to making L.A. her base, Karen lived in Washington, D.C. for 16 years covering news and politics both near and far, including six trips to Iraq and being embedded with the 101st Airborne in Afghanistan. In 2009 she was one of the principal photographers for the Inauguration of Barack Obama, shooting the dramatic moment when Obama took the Presidential oath of office for the first time for The White House. Karen has traveled the world on assignment for major magazines, corporations and movie studios, most recently working in Tanzania, Kenya, Poland, and Rwanda.
