Mark Kaplan was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. He attended
Emerson College and graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
In Los Angeles, Mark formed OTM Productions and produced biographies and interstitials for Encore, Showtime, and Starz.
He created and executive produced the internationally syndicated TV biography series, "Hollywood's Best Film Directors", interviewing and profiling A-list directors. The show covered the careers of George Lucas, Ron Howard, Chris Columbus, Brett Ratner, Francis Ford Coppola, and many others.
Mark co-produced the feature documentary, "Becoming Iconic", behind the scenes with a first-time director while soliciting on-camera advice from A-list directors about their first times.
As a scriptwriter and script doctor, Mark has written, co-written original screenplays, and polished others. He's produced sizzle reels to pitch screenplays and developed scripts based on award-winning Books.
Mark also arranges cash equity financing for independent features.
