Daljit DJ Parmar grew up with the family of Bollywood icon Mehmood Ali, living both in North America and India. The combination of growing up in the West and Bollywood gave Daljit an extraordinary perspective. A graduate of the prestigious Vancouver Film School, Daljit studied all aspects of film production.
Daljit leveraged his expertise and relationships to launch Original Entertainment, an entertainment company focused on building a cultural bridge between the West and the East. Daljit pioneered the business model to remake Hollywood blockbusters for Bollywood by purchasing a portfolio of official remake rights, including the RAMBO franchise. The Indian remake of RAMBO has attached renowned Indian director Siddarth Anand, and Indian superstar Tiger Shroff as the leading actor. It has been green-lit to begin pre-production in 2023 with India's largest studio Reliance/JIO financing and releasing theatrically globally.
Previously Daljit, was one of the leading international film producers focused on the China market. He executive produced the first China-Kazakhstan co-production film COMPOSER which was selected as the opening film for the Beijing International Film Festival in 2019 and it has been released in theaters across China. He also executive produced the first China-India co-production film KUNG FU YOGA starring Jackie Chan, which has since become one of the highest-grossing films in China and the highest-grossing co-production film in Chinese box office history in 2017 with a total box office of $244MM USD.
Daljit in his capacity as Producer oversees a slate of high-profile co-production films and television at varying stages of development.
