Andy Nguyen(II)

Andy Nguyen is the son of two Vietnamese "boat people," who escaped in 1975 when Communism fell over Vietnam. Andy was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, but spent his summers in Vietnam where his uncles were at the forefront of post-Vietnam War cinema. Since then he has made films in Vietnam and in the U.S. with his work screening all over the world and winning more than a dozen awards, including the Jimmy Stewart Memorial Crystal Heart Award (2005), FAIF Most Promising Student Filmmaker Award (2005), and the Playboy/Bombay Sapphire Imaginative Filmmakers Spotlight Grand Prize (2012).
