Norwegian brothers Bård Ylvisåker and Vegard Ylvisåker, known together as the comedy duo Ylvis, released the music video for their now mega hit The Fox (What Does The Fox Say?) in September 2013. Since then, utterly ridiculous, oddly catchy, and completely mesmerizing depiction of a furry forest animal that’s like an “angel in disguise” has racked up nearly 300 million views and spawned at least one children’s book that’s also put up some very impressive numbers. Simon and Schuster’s hardcover of What Does The Fox Say? went up for sale on Amazon December 10, 2013. It’s currently the #1 seller in the category of Children’s Books about Poetry, the #1 seller in the category of Children’s Books about Foxes & Wolves, and #10 in Books Overall. Yes, Ylvis’ print and paper iteration of their The Fox song is, at the moment of this writing, the tenth best-selling book on all of Amazon.

Ylvis, the Norwegian comedy group who went viral earlier this year with the unnervingly catchy ditty "The Fox," are back. This time, with an ode to Massachusetts, called "Massachusetts." Bård and Vegard Ylvisåker and Calle Hellevang-Larsen, who make up the trio, start the song by crooning facts about the state, before it devolves into tired gay jokes (or social commentary on homophobia?) and then complete nonsense. But are those random facts about the state even facts? After "The Fox," we're not so sure (according to them, a fox says, "Ring-ding-ding-ding-dingeringeding! Gering-ding-ding-ding-dingeringeding! Wa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pow!...

Norwegian talk show hosts Bård Ylvisåker and Vegard Ylvisåker asked the question “What does the fox say?” And although we’re not still not exactly sure what the fox says, we are sure what Fox says. In response to the viral video, which now has more than 33 million views on YouTube, the television network rounded up its stars and clips from its biggest shows to create its own rendition of the viral video. Turns out, Fox makes some crazy sounds.

If you fancy yourself a connoisseur of viral videos, you're already very familiar with "The Fox," Norway's answer to "Gangnam Style." If you've ever been on the Internet, you probably still have heard of "The Fox." Here's what happens when a video goes super viral: Norwegian comedy duo Ylvis—made up of brothers Bård and Vegard Ylvisåker—created the ridiculous (albeit, pretty radio friendly) music video as part of an ad campaign to promote their talk show on TVNorge. Using the Psy model to viral fame, next come the page views (31 million for "The Fox"). Then the YouTube parodies and lip dubs. Check. Then the cover by a college marching band....

Ylvis’ “The Fox” is hitting all the viral-video milestones. First, it’s racked up nearly 30 million views on YouTube. Now, it’s been covered — in epic, choreographed fashion — by a college marching band.
The Ohio University band performed a John Philip Sousa-approved version of the jokey Edm song during halftime on Saturday, even setting down their instruments and busting a move in the middle. Watch the foxy footage below:

Last September, 'Gangnam Style' was blowing up on YouTube, raking in views by the tens of millions and causing fans all over the world to start riding invisible horses. A year later, a Norwegian duo has released a ridiculous music video that could become YouTube's next viral hit. Brothers Bård Ylvisåker and Vegard Ylvisåker, known together as Ylvis, are the creative minds behind 'The Fox', an absurd song-and-dance number. Before we get into the reasons why 'The Fox' could strike YouTube gold, give it a watch. And before you ask 'Are these guys for real?' keep in mind that Ylvis are actually comedians, not serious musicians. Obviously, this glorious video has many things in common with Gangnam Style, so many that it's easier to just make a list: The international factor. Like Psy, Ylvis are established performers in their home country, so they have a chance to capture the world's attention,...

Note to Seth Meyers: This is how you promote a talk show.
Norwegian talk show hosts Bård Ylvisåker and Vegard Ylvisåker have released the below music video, “The Fox,” as promotion for the new season of their show I Kveld med Ylvis, and if this addictive, silly video is any indication, you’re going to need to order a box set of the program stat.
To say much about this incredible song/music video would spoil the surprise, but let’s just say that the viral-ready tune, first discovered by Pleated-Jeans, combines the sexiness (?) of “Blurred Lines,” with the...
