Taylor Swift is never afraid to write songs about people she knows, and fans think they've gotten another one. On June 5, Swift, 33, revealed the track list for "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)," and it includes six previously unreleased tracks she wrote during the original "Speak Now" era that she calls "vault" songs. The songs include one called "When Emma Falls in Love," and fans immediately wondered if the track could be about actor (and Swift's friend) Emma Stone. When the song was finally released on July 7, they scoured the lyrics for clues, and later that day at her Eras Tour show, Swift performed it live for the first time and seemed to confirm it's about Stone. Here's what to know.
Stone, 34, attended Swift's Eras tour back in March, and when she talked to Vanity Fair about it in an article published June 5, she revealed some details about her and Swift's long-lasting friendship.

While queer musicians have always been around, representation often comes in the way of gay, lesbian or bisexual artists. Unfortunately, transgender artists have been especially underrepresented. These days trans, nonbinary, or non-gender-conforming artists like Sam Smith, Arca, Janelle Monáe, Kim Petras, and Big Freedia have been able to create space for transgender artists. However, back in the 1960s, one artist was already pushing music forward. Let’s look back at Wendy Carlos, her monumental record “Switched-On Bach,” and how it helped both her and the trans community along the way — while also winning three Grammys.

Much has been said about K-pop borrowing liberally from American hip-hop culture, but on their second English-language album, The Dreaming, K-pop group Monsta X pays homage to boy-band culture, with Nineties-style harmonies, slick choruses, and head-bopping beats that come together for an infectious and joyous 27 minutes.
Recorded while Covid still kept much of the world on edge, The Dreaming is an ode to simpler times, with Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Jooheon, and I.M. belting out lyrics about falling in love — and yearning for their feelings to be reciprocated. “Don’t make me beg,...

Though her Schitt's Creek character, Stevie Budd, has a pretty messy love life, Emily Hampshire's relationship history is far less complicated. Emily has only been romantically linked to two people, and most recently, the actress was engaged to musician Teddy Geiger. The two became Instagram official in August 2018 when Emily posted a selfie of herself and Teddy with the caption, "Just me & my girlfriend." Over the next several months, the couple showed each other plenty of social media love, and in November 2018, Emily decided to pop the question, which Teddy announced with an Ig post.
Sadly, the two decided to call off their engagement seven months later in June 2019, with a source reportedly telling Page Six that the couple had split and "will not get back together." It's unclear why Emily and Teddy broke up, and the two have yet to publicly address the breakup.

Pink recaptures the flame of young love on her new song with the electronic trio Cash Cash, “Can We Pretend.” The song will appear on Pink’s upcoming album, Hurts 2B Human, out April 26th via RCA Records.
“Can We Pretend” boasts a euphoric Edm pop beat filled with thumping drums and gooey synths. Pink balances the feel-good vibes with a hit of nostalgia as she sings about the thrilling early days of a relationship in a way that suggest the present isn’t holding up so well. “So can...

Before Teddy Geiger was one of pop’s most in-demand songwriters and producers, she was a kid in western New York state who wore a pendant embossed with the Virgin Mary. She was raised Catholic, and Mary statuettes populated her childhood home. In her twenties, during a time of personal upheaval, she started seeing Mary everywhere — a guide appearing to let her know, maybe, that she was headed in the right direction. “It was some weird, superstitious feeling,” says Geiger, 30. “I’d see her and I’d really feel it:...

Singer-songwriter Teddy Geiger has a lot of big accomplishments to be proud of, from signing her first record deal as a teenager and scoring a Top 10 album with 2006’s Underage Thinking to penning songs for others and also releasing her third album, 2018’s LilyAnna. Yet, in our signature video franchise “The First Time,” Geiger recalls how she’s impacted others rather humbly and other sweet memories that led to her success.

In something of an upset, This is America by Childish Gambino won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year, marking Donald Glover’s third award on the evening. The award goes to Donald Glover & Ludwig Goransson, the songwriters, the win no doubt powered by its accompanying groundbreaking video.
Neither was present to accept the award. Song of the Year is a songwriter’s award. A song (singles or tracks) is eligible if it was first released or if it first achieved prominence during the Eligibility Year.
Glover’s dissonant song of commentary about the socio-ecnmc status of black me was made especially controversial bs jarring art-house video which includes moments of abrupt violence. Glover himself has a federal heritage — he was born in the Reagan years at Edwards Air Force Base in 1983. Glover is a multi-threat talent with comedy and acting pursuits. Last year Bruno Mars was the king of the Grammy Awards winning all six of his races. This year, one of the artists he bested for many of those prizes, Kendrick Lamar, leads with a whopping eight nominations. Many of these bids come for his work on the “Black Panther” soundtrack and the chart-topping single “All the Stars.” Likewise, Lady Gaga earned four nominations for “Shallow,” the love ballad from her film “A Star is Born.” Both of their songs also contend at the Academy Awards.
The four general field categories — Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist — are the top prizes at the Grammys. While the nominees are drawn from across a variety of music genres, the winners of these Grammy Awards tend to be the biggest pop and rock acts like Mars, Adele, Taylor Swift, and Mumford and Sons.

Lady Gaga and her “A Star Is Born” character Ally are both Grammy winners, but the latter has won what her portrayer never has: a general field Grammy. That could all change in February, though, thanks to “Shallow.”
“Shallow,” the only eligible track from “A Star Is Born” this Grammy cycle, received four nominations Friday: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop/Duo Group Performance and Best Song Written for Visual Media. Record and Song are two of the four general field Grammy categories, along with Album of the Year and Best New Artist, aka the Big Four — none of which Gaga has won.
Not counting the five nominations she received Friday, including one for “Joanne (Where Do You Think You’re Goin’?)”, Gaga has six wins from 19 nominations, all in genre categories: Best Dance Recording for “Poker Face”; Best Electronic/Dance Album for “The Fame”; Best...

Cardi B, Lady Gaga, Childish Gambino, Maren Morris, R&B newcomer H.E.R., and producer Sounwave all notched five noms.

Not many artists get to experience as many pop lives as Teddy Geiger. She was a teen idol by 16, with a mushy soft-rock hit, “For You I Will (Confidence),” on her hands. At 19, she starred as the romantic lead opposite future Oscar winner Emma Stone in the comedy The Rocker. After an early retirement at 21, she took a few steps back out of the spotlight and began writing songs for and with other artists, most famously becoming one of the names behind Shawn Mendes’ biggest hits (“Stitches,” “Treat You Better”).

Troye Sivan is the latest star to cover a Queen classic ahead of the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody. His version of “Somebody to Love” follows 5 Seconds of Summer’s “Killer Queen” and Shawn Mendes take on “Under Pressure” with Teddy Geiger.
For Sivan’s cover, the singer-songwriter transforms the classic anthem. Stripping away the gospel influence of the original, he turns the undertones more atmospheric and tender. The change makes the request for “somebody to love” more somber and vulnerable than the confident optimism of Freddie Mercury’s original.
