Norbert Shieh is a Los Angeles-based Taiwanese American filmmaker and cinematographer. His films have screened internationally in festivals and venues such as the New York Film Festival, Ann Arbor Film Festival, REDCAT, Antimatter Film Festival, Vancouver Asian Film Festival and the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. He has shot over forty films as a director of photography; these projects have been exhibited in venues such as Sundance, Slamdance, Blackstar, LACMA, Anthology Film Archives, and the Centre Pompidou. Norbert is a Creative Capital Award recipient for his first feature documentary "Preserves." He is an inaugural Sundance Institute / The Asian American Foundation Collab Scholar and has been in cohorts with the Center of Asian American Media (CAAM), Bay Area Video Coalition (BAVC), the Logan Nonfiction Program, and with Visual Communications. In 2019, Filmmaker Magazine named him as one of "25 New Faces of Independent Film."
