John Burr is an award-winning filmmaker from Dallas, Texas. He is known for his work in the horror and thriller genres, and his acclaimed feature directorial debut Muse, a psychological thriller based on a Celtic legend, was an international hit. His widely anticipated followup feature The Gates will be released in 2025. John is half African-American and half Irish-American. He holds a master's degree from the USC School of Cinematic Arts and bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College.
