Parent-child relationships are delicate even under the most ideal circumstances, but they can be extra trying or difficult when there’s an imbalance due to events beyond anyone’s control. Such is the case for the new film “A Light Beneath Their Feet,” about a mother-daughter relationship amidst a sea of change and turmoil. The film stars Taryn Manning as Gloria, a young mother struggling with bipolar disorder, and Madison Davenport as Beth, her daughter and the one source of stability in her life. Beth is about to leave for college soon and Gloria struggles with her imminent departure. As the two go through ups and downs, Beth weighs her options between staying local for her mother or pursuing her dream across the country while Gloria tries to learn to let go. Watch an exclusive clip from “A Light Beneath Their Feet” below.

Teen Wolf Episode 317
“Silverfinger”
Written By: Moira McMahon Leeper
Directed By: Jennifer Lynch
Original Airdate: 3 February 2014
In This Episode…
Argent has an idea of who the demon ninjas might be. When he was 18, Gerard took him on a trip to Japan. He ended up facing off with Yakuza, who were then set upon by the ninja demons. One of the few survivors was a Yakuza they called Silverfinger because of a silver prosthetic he had (and because Goldfinger was already taken). Argent shot one of the ninja demons in the face, shattering his mask. It didn’t kill it, but it dispersed it long enough for him to get away. He knows that Silverfinger is in the States, but he lives in paranoid seclusion and has not been able to get a meeting with him. Luckily Silverfinger is an avid collector of antique weapons, and Argent has a 1600s French pistol to sell.

Jennifer Lynch directs this episode of Teen Wolf, which introduces Japanese mythology to the mix...
This review contains spoilers.
3.17 Silverfinger
Not long ago, I praised Teen Wolf for its cast. The longer a show stays on the air, the more connections you begin to see among cast members. For example, Sheriff Stilinski, aka Linden Ashby, isn't in this week's episode. However, a new character—the titular Silverfinger—is in the episode, played with typical style by Cary-Hiroyuke Tagawa. Tagawa is a veteran character actor, but I bring up Linden Ashby for a reason. Linden Ashby was Johnny Cage in the Mortal Kombat movie, alongside Cary-Hiroyuke Tagawa as Shang Tsung and one Christopher Lambert as Raiden. Christopher Lambert is the star of Highlander, which was directed by... Russell Mulcahy, who has been one of the leading figures in Teen Wolf's television renaissance.

NBC has added two more projects to its drama development roster hailing from Universal TV and two of its pods: a soapy drama from writer Patricia Resnick (9 To 5) and Scott Stuber‘s Bluegrass TV, and a high-concept drama from up-and-coming writer Moira McMahon and Peter Traugott‘s Tbd Prods. Resnick’s project is described as a semi-autobiographical drama with comedic overtones set around the professional and private lives of the harried staff of a formerly famous novelist suffering from decades-long writer’s block. The hire of an ambitious young writer as the author’s new personal assistant sets off seismic shifts throughout the already unsteady household. Stuber, Quan Phung and Jonathan Baruch executive produce. The project reunites Resnick, repped by Rain Management and Sandy Weinberg, with NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt. In addition to co-writing the 1980 movie 9 To 5 starring Dolly Parton, she also co-wrote with Parton the Broadway musical, which was produced by Greenblatt.
