Born in Punta Arenas Chile, Demian Fuica immigrated to Canada in 1979 with his family. After obtaining his degree with a major in film studies at the University of Montreal, he directs various music videos before writing and directing his first independent feature, "The Last Incarnation" (2005) that premiered in Montreal's Fantasia Film Festival. His second independent feature film "La Run" (2011), that he signed with his brother Leonardo as a Fuica Brothers film, was selected in the official competition at the 35th Montreal World Film Festival, the 4th Angouleme Francophone Film Festival, the 6th Crime Film Festival of Liege, and the 30th Quebec's Film Rendez-Vous. It was also nominated for best editing, best supporting actor, and best screenplay at the 2012 Quebec Jutra Awards. In 2016 he starts 8cube, his production company to develop and create audiovisual content. Four years later, he teams up with his brother Leonardo again and they both produce and direct their second Fuica Brothers film "Camping Trip" (2021).
