Debi Gallo
- Actress
Debi made her acting and singing debut at age 9 on the San Francisco
stage in the musical "Gypsy".
As a high school freshman, Debi started entering Miss NJ Teen pageants to earn scholarships for college. Her practical, no-nonsense style won her dozens of public speaking and debate awards throughout high school and college. For a passionate performer, who thrives on stress, a career in Television Journalism seemed a natural calling.
Debi has anchored and reported News and Sports for several Television and Radio stations in Washington, D.C., West Virginia, New Jersey and New York. She returned to the New York area to freelance as a reporter in WNBC's "Chopper 4." As fate would have it, Debi was not in "Chopper 4" on the day it crashed; she was in the Poconos playing golf.
Well-known for her hands-on stories, Debi has flown a Fighter Jet plane, covered the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks, the Subway Series, NY Giants and NJ Devils playoff games, plus the PGA Tour. She's even done aerobics with Richard Simmons.
As an actress, Debi has appeared in several Off-Broadway plays and musicals. In the Summer of 2011, she performed in the New York sketch comedy play "Something Outrageous", a show which stems from "Second City" in Chicago.
She has been featured in many commercials and print ads, including Topol Toothpaste, Zelnorm and AT&T, plus done promotional modeling for Pantene, Crest White Strips and All You Magazine, to name a few.
Debi was the original Spokesperson for Xcersole(TM), a weighted sneaker insole that enhances athletic training.
Debi attended Syracuse University and graduated from Emerson College in Boston at the age of 21 with an extensive degree in Broadcast Journalism and Speech.
A die-hard New York Yankees fan, Debi lives with her cats Rivera and Nuovo. Her former cat, Torre decided to stay in Italy, after they lived there together for more than a year.
Debi's first book, based on her experiences in TV News is scheduled to be published in 2012.
