Gareth Edwards' new film in the "Jurassic Park/World" series hasn't yet been given an official title, but — according to a report in Variety — may likely be called "Jurassic City." It will be the seventh film to be based on Michael Crichton's 1990 adventure novel.

The new film will be written by longtime blockbuster scribe David Koepp, and is being described as "a completely fresh take launching a new Jurassic era, following three adults and three teens getting stuck on the Island." The Island is presumably Isla Nublar, the fictional Costa Rican island where Steven Spielberg's "Jurassic Park" (1993) took place.

It may be generous to call the story "completely fresh," as "characters trapped on an island with dinosaurs" is also the plot of "Jurassic Park," "The Lost World: Jurassic Park," "Jurassic Park III," and "Jurassic World." A callous and unrelenting group of villains are set to battle the apocalypse in the newly released stills, poster and official trailer from the upcoming sci-fi film, ‘The Sector.’ The drama’s photos, poster and trailer were unveiled by its production company, Copper Kid Productions, as the movie was presented at this weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con. ‘The Sector’ marks the feature film writing and directorial debuts of filmmaker Josh Ridgway, who also served as a producer on the drama. Automatic Entertainment is introducing buyers to Jurassic City [pictured] at Filmart.

Written and directed by Sean Cain, the film centres on a black-ops unit who attempt to subdue thousands of raptors after a top-secret laboratory is breached. It stars newcomers Dana Melanie, Kayla Carlyle and Sofia Mattsson, alongside genre actors Ray Wise and Vernon Wells.

Also on Automatic’s slate is Tim McCann’s White Rabbit, starring True Blood’s Sam Trammell, Britt Robertson, Nick Krause and Ryan Lee. The intense drama follows a bullied high school student’s descent into violence.

With filmmaker Sean Cain having recently wrapped his "sorority girls vs. dinosaurs" flick Jurassic Block, we sat down to chat with the affable writer and director regarding the project. Read on for more, including several stills and a look behind the scenes!

Written and directed by Cain (whose previous genre features include Silent Night, Zombie Night and Breath of Hate), Jurassic Block is produced by Anthony Fankhuaser and J.J. Kim, with FX by Joseph Lawson. It stars Ray Wise (Jeepers Creepers 2), Kevin Gage (Heat), Robert Lasardo (Death Race), Vernon Wells (The Road Warrior), Dana Melanie, Kayla Carlyle, Jack Forcinito (Silent Night, Zombie Night), Sofia Mattsson, Monique Parent, Timothy Muskatell, Vanessa Johnston and Bill Millsap (“Hatfields & McCoys”).

“Originally it was a much different concept,” Cain told us of the beginnings of Jurassic Block. “I had pitched the producers initially with my idea of basically combining [the premises of] Attack the Block with The Raid Redemption.

The film takes on the Broken Windows Theory which basically states that the removal of torn down and broken homes or the repairing of damaged infrastructure leads to a safer community. Also, keeping things in order leads to less vandalism and fewer instances of crime. This is a theory that was trumped by Mayor Giuliani in New York during the '80s and '90s with some success.

Throwing Stones will take this approach to a whole new level, as students are seen as the broken windows in need of repair.
