- An actor, singer, songwriter, screenwriter, producer, filmmaker, and dancer, Keven was born in Indiana. He is the son of a pharmaceutical engineer and a school teacher. From an early age, he participated in church stage productions and wrote lyrics. In fifth grade, Keven auditioned and earned a place within the Indianapolis Children's choir while also serving as head choral director for his church's youth department. By the sixth grade, he was accepted into the pilot gifted school named The Key Renaissance, in downtown Indianapolis, where his talents and academic objectives were nurtured. While at the Key Renaissance, Keven participated in the music department by taking up the violin; he later progressed to viola in high school. Further in association with the Key Renaissance, and due to good grades, Keven went on to serve weekly as an academic mentor and tour guide at the Indianapolis Children's Museum. By the end of middle school, Keven had received an award from the President's Educational Awards Program. He attended North Central High School, where he earned his performance letter, before moving to California and graduating from Poway High School his senior year. While a student at Poway High school he participated in theatrical stage productions as an actor, stage manager, and sound designer, in addition to several choral variety concerts. From there he went on to study classical and contemporary theater at San Diego State University before transferring to and graduating from Indiana State University with a Bachelor's degree. Upon graduation, he was made a member of the National Deans List. Additional affiliations include, but are not limited to, Broadcast Must Incorporate, SAG-AFTRA, Sound Exchange, and Actors Equity Association.
Shortly after college, Keven began to pen an urban paranormal fantasy fiction novel series.
In 2004 Keven self-released his first self made record entitled For All Times, followed by Revolution (2005), Black Knight (2006), Rewound (2007), Endurance (2008), to studio albums Darklight (2010), Eclipse (2013), Take Me Away (2015), Burn (2020), and on to his first EP Not Without You (2022). His west coast performance discography includes popular venues at Bar Lubitsch (West Hollywood, CA), The Crest (Los Angeles, CA.), Gate City Community Center (Pocatello, Idaho), House of Blues (Anaheim, CA), Chaparral Live Room (San Dimas, CA), Trip Club (Los Angeles, CA), Amplify- Club (Los Angeles, CA), Poway Center for the Performing Arts (San Diego, CA), The Bamboo Club (Lancaster, CA.), The Palmer Room (Los Angeles, CA), and the MGM Grand Convention Center (Las Vegas, NV).
In 2015, after having worked in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, Keven returned to his roots in the theatrical production of "Monster" at the Malibu Playhouse.
In 2017 Keven paused his solo music endeavors to be the frontman for the Southern California cover, and original, band SoCal Soul.
A year later he was driven to return to his solo original music while promoting his self-made independent film short Bye Bye Bastard on the festival circuit. Bye Bye Bastard has gone on to be featured in the Silicon Beach Film Festival, the Independent Filmmakers Showcase Film Festival, the Culver City Film Festival, and a Semi-Finalist in the US Hollywood International Golden Film Awards. The short later won the "Award of Recognition" in the IndieFest Film Festival.
Keven's full-length feature screenplay, Bay Crest, has been a selection in the Hollywood Horrorfest Film Festival, a Simi Finalist in Southern California's Screenplay Festival, a Special Jury Award Winner in the North American Film Awards, and a winner in the Krimson Horyzon International Film Festival. His Feature screenplay The Meadows has been a section in the Motor City International Film Festival, a winner in the Krimson Horyzon International Festival, and a Winner in the Dreamz Catcher International Film Festival. His first written screenplay Unheard has been a selection in the Organ Scream Week Film Festival, a finalist in the Houston Horror Film Festival, a nominee in the Independent Horror Movie Awards, a winner in the Krimson Horyzon International Film Festival, and winner for Best Horror Feature Length Screenplay in the Austin After Dark Film Festival.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Keven Porter Jr
